NEW YORK (AP) - New York Knicks player Nate Robinson was arrested Tuesday for driving without a license.

And fans who follow him on Twitter got a play-by-play.

"Cops pulled me over cuz my windows were 2 dark (but my windows were down) lol how funny is that," Robinson tweeted after being pulled over according to the New York Post.
His next post: "Iam still pulled over and its been 35 min they have me sit in my truck like I dnt have s#*+2 do lol."
Both posts were deleted soon after.
Police said Robinson was arrested after officers pulled him over in the Bronx at about 5:30 p.m. and discovered he had a suspended license.
The Knicks guard was taken to the 52nd Precinct and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and issued a summons to return to court at a later date, police said.
A Knicks spokesman said they were aware of the situation and would discuss it with Robinson directly.
Robinson is a restricted free agent, meaning the Knicks can match any offer he receives from another team. The club has said it hopes to keep the popular guard at the right price.
Robinson was in New York to work at a basketball camp. In a series of postings on his Twitter page late Tuesday night, he apologized to the Knicks, his family and his fans, and thanked the police. The NBA's slam dunk champion explained that he believed he was being pulled over for tinted windows but learned it was because he had an unpaid ticket that led to the suspended license. He added the matter would be cleared up.

"aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle"

What the fuck is happening to our western society? I mean really though. There had to have been a fucking committee involved in even naming an offense like that. What happened to "driving without a license"... talk about nuts.

The west is in dire need of a revolution in my humble opinion and throw all these insane people out. Small governments that support democracy and stay the hell out of peoples business. These same small governments need to live in fear of the people - not the other way around!

I bet it was an expired tag, that did not get updated. I have had a few tickets this way. I usually have no clue why I am being ticketed until they hand me the ticket, and I have to ask what I had done to deserve it.

It usually happens about 2-3 months out for me too.

Driving without a licence?

What exactly is a "driver?"

Carrying passengers without a licence? What exactly is a "passenger?"

Car not registered?

1. A Driver is someone who drives in exchange for money, like a bus driver, a taxi driver or a truck driver. When we, as ordinary citizens "drive," we are really just traveling. We are not "Drivers," we are traverlers. We have the human right to travel without encumbrances.

2. A Passenger is someone who pays a fare to a "Driver" for work performed. As ordinary citizens, we don't have Passengers ... we have guests.

3. An automobile is personal property, just like a refrigerator, a table, a stereo system. Do we register our refrigerators, tables and stereo systems with the state?

Just food for thought. Any comments?

+rep for this

Legalese is pure crazy talk IMO. It was conceived so as to confuse the lay man.

One of the reasons for the registration is so that ownership of real property can always be readily ascertained through a consultation of public records. For instance a car runs over one of your kids and speeds off, you get the license number and therefore the perpetrator would be caught. Its also a way for the state to gain revenue ( Of Course).

Next time im in traffic court its gonna be like this

Judge: " Mr Soandso, you were the driver of the Ferrari GTO accused of going 120 mph in a 65 zone"?

me: "No your honor I was only a traveler, not being reimbursed for the trip at all".

Judge: " Don't get smart with me , Mr Soandso".
