can i change lights to 24/0?

I started from seed about three weeks ago with the lights at 16/8, can i change the lights to 24/0 now to promote more growth? or would it hurt the plants. It is a cfl grow with 4 100w (23w equivalents i believe) and 1 150w. Thanx in advance.

Yes you can, that would be fine, and back the other way later if you wish. I do 24/0 so I limited stretch (plenty in 12/12).

Useing cfls in 12/12? if so leave those lights on 24/0 in veg and make sure you fim or top so you have a bush of buds not a tall cola.

I hear for the vegetative stage its usually 24/0 and for the flowering stage ts 12/12.

maybe 10/14 for a nice flowering sativa
indicas are better on 12/12

18/6 is the way to go. I have noticed slower growth rates on 24/0. But that is just with me.

The slower growth is the strech, which is good. The inter nodes (bud sites)will POP all over.

But that is less Light time on Buds when they need it most.
So you think (by Personal Ex) that by giving 2 hrs less light a day is Benificial to buds?

i think its bennificial 2 preflowering
once buds start 2 push up....
then outside at 4am

you are using CFLs so no problem but if you ever switch to MH or HPS, most light manufacturers recomend a few hrs a day off to cool the ballast/bulb - not sure if this pertains to electronic ballasts
