hey man my plant is in the same stage as yours and i leave my fan on 24/7 try that it will make them stronger but idk this is my first grow

Remember on the first post i said my mum was ok with it but i only think thats cause she don't think it will work...well i was right lol now she is saying im not doing any more after these 4 lol i knew it...o well lets hope these ones go well then!

Looks like you're off to a good start, but I would recommend paying more attention to your plants environment, you stated earlier that you don't know the exact temp, so I'm wondering if you know the humidity etc. if you are unsure of these things, I'm thinking it would be wise to put an osculating fan in 24/7 and get a temperature/humidity gauge, also for the longer cfl's you would get more adequate light if you were to mount them horizontal.

If you were to grow some beautiful plants and show yur mums, I bet she'll have different feelings toward them and your growing experiences.

My plants seem to be doing well, but I'm still confused on what lighting I should use for what stage, I plan to flower soon so it's important that I use the proper lights.

Keep on growing and continue to prove yur mum wrong!

Just a quick picture update
One of them is looking like a woman from the 70's with them hair cuts that tuck under

I want to be able to flower in 2 weeks time but i think they might need a little longer

Ill get some more cfl's for flowering

The lights are horizontal, they started of verticle but i changed them when i sorted out the room.

When i can find the humidity gauge and a thermomiter i will check, there is never a drastic change in temp in there tho.

i use large rocks at the bottom of my pot then put in tiny rocks then the dirt. but you must have holes and a catch for the water. looks heavy like it has too much water. and mirrors are bad because they have microscopic hairline cracks you cant see, and create hot spots on a plant leaf, burns it. Also the flat parts of mirrors which seem good, actually soak more light. just use white paint on walls or Mylar, or christmas metallic wrapping paper. those bulbs are great, i would try to mount them sideways because more juice comes from the side of those CFL bulbs, not the tip end! More power for the same cost! keep them just outside of reach from the tip of the plant with a fan on at least during daylight. Keep it on 24 hrs until it's vegetative, then go 18 hours on- 6 off. Getting a power timer is helpful with correct lighting times and they are less than 4 dollars american $! just some helpful information I have gotten from others. Soak the knowledge in and go grasshopper.

When its about a foot tall, i forgot to tell you set your timer to 12/12 lighting to induce flowering phase to get your buds, and eliminate the males as soon as you notice tiny grape-looking balls on the nodes, or intersections near the main stem... Hollar

I bought one of those 4$ timers, I had my choice between timex or brinks, I chose timex because I believe they've been around longer, anyways those timers suck it's almost impossible to get the times accurate and they want to fall out of the wall socket, pretty flimsy and feels breakable, I'm afraid that I will break it, so I went out and bought a digital timer with all kinds of settings and it works great, with that being said I recommend getting a heavy duty or digital timer it's well worth the extra shells.

Speaking of male plants, check out the attachment you can use it as a reference because I'm pretty sure it's a boy (correct me if I'm wrong) but I'm going to give it a few more days before I rip him a new asshole?



PS: I'm using the timex timer for our hall light, works fine but the light doesn't go on and off when it's supposed to, its like a half hour off.

skunk wizard thanks for the info on the mirror, but the rest seemd like you had not read much of the thread.
I got some lil flying/jumping black things in there today i mixed some garlic and water and wiped it on the walls, pots and bases so fingers crossed they will fuck of soon, what do they want with my plants?
They been on 18/6 for the past 2 weeks, the lights are horizontal now, they seem to be groing ok so im probably gona wait till flowering before i add more lights.
SX2 is pretty big now lol.

Is it the indicas that are bushier and the sativas that are taller or the other way round?

Correct. Indicas are taller, good for outside grows! usually they have 7, 9 sometimes 11 leafs.
Sativas are small and bushy like a bush. Usually have 5 leaves, I got one that has 7 and one with 5 fan leafs. or is it "leaves"?
It is to of my attention that some seed strands are a mix of sativa and indica based on their mother plant's breed using cross-pollen technique.

strip of fly paper would help. I saw one once, it landing on my light and I smooshed it with my thumb, haven't seen any since.

From my understanding the gnats will lay eggs in your soil and the larva feeds on yur roots, I had a problem with them damn gnats and I was informed that a glass bowl with a mixture of liquid dish soap and apple vinegar will do the trick, sure enough I tried it and I have'nt seen a gnat since other than in the bowl, hopefully I got em before they had a chance to lay their eggs, the vinegar attracts the lil bastards and when they go in for a landing the soap kills them.


Make sure you place the bowl or bowls bellow your plants out of the way of any force of your fan.

Nah, I wouldn't go spraying it on the plants as I don't know what it would do to them, try the glass bowl with the mixure in it, I think you will be impressed, if you have lot's of gnats try spreading more bowls around in your grow area.
