aeroponics- 54 Gallon Rubbermaid, 3 inch net pots

I don't understand why people thought you wanted 54 gallons of res? I thought you were clear in stating that you were building an aero system with a 54 gal. tote. To answer your question, it determines on how long you are planning on vegging those plants. Being a newbie, I over grew my 2" net pots in a flash. "Aero's fucking fast" If you planned on vegging them to 12" I'd go with about 4-6 3" cups. Also, you can put in more cup sites and just not use them all. How tall are ayou gonna veg these girls?

i wanted to veg the girls for about 2 weeks. i will most likely be using an indica strain. how long do you think i should veg if i use 32 3" inch net pots.

bro i could give you a lot better advice on the mechanical side, theres some bad ass gardeners on this site that you could read there grows, im a few weeks into flower of my first aero , all i can tell you is its unbelievably fast, i tried to veg 6 in a similar system for 4 weeks and had to pull 3, i still had to do a lot of trimming, unless you tie em up those small cups can fall over, if you veg for 2 weeks there going to be pretty big by the time they stretch. make sure you drill the holes a little small so the cups are very snug. im going with 3 or 4, 4" cups next time with a 2 week veg, im using a 1k hps and co2 and it grows so fast its like learning how to drive in a dragster, the most important thing i think is res temp, no mater what you have to keep your res below 70 and its tuff to do without a chiller unless you want to babysit your res with frozen bottles, i bought a cheap one on e bay and they are very simple to hook up. sorry i cant give you a better answer to your question

Thanks for the info bro. very helpful. so you say your using 6 pots in a similar system. what do you think the results would be on this 54 Gallon tote with 32 3" net pots. i will be using a 1k hps as well. how long would i need to veg to get an oz off each plant?

if you can keep your res cold with that 1000kw hps you could have some nice sized plants in 10 days, im only a few weeks into my first aero grow so im sure theres others on here that could give you better advice, if i were going to do a 32 site grow id use clones with basicly a couple days veg and flip the timer, after your roots start out the bottom of your net cups its truly amazing what a couple days of veg will do. id like to try a 32 site grow sometime but my next tub will only have 3 plants and ill only veg 14-21 days,sorrt i cant give you more difinitive answers bro.

how close are you to turning on that 600? one veg cycle and youll be dialed bro,youll be smokin em out, put a ballvalve in the end of your manifold for easy res changes, keep us posted with pics!
