i think i want a 454

i have this 350 in it and i keep trying to beef it up. why not just drop in a bigger motor?:confused: i'm restricted on smog laws so it's come to dealing with the heads. i've already dropped to much into it and it's still having issues. i really want a new motor.:evil:

Try a 305 SOoooo much more you can do to it, and should pass. thats what my dads fire chicken has in it and we are going to fix it up.:mrgreen:

My dads is a 1978, you can drop in a turbo and bore it to 308 theres more you can do i just can't think of it right now.

i can drop in a 454 and put out 500hp without touching it. call it done. i'm not racing or showing. i just want to smoke my tires.

that will do it for sure hope gas doesn't go up, my uncle has a 454 in he's corvette 1972. I drove it once and it was doing 45 Berle pressing on the gas. damn i'm stond:eyesmoke:(ak48 and skunk) hope my post make since because it takes me like 15 min.

if your just wanting to smoke the tires and you dont care about the gas mileage just buy you set of 8.25 gears for the rear end, and save a ton-o-cash. youll prolly only be able to run 35mph at 22,000rpms, but youll smoke the hell outa your skins. lol

Haha. You want to do this with your blazer? Just take out the front driveshaft and put it in four low when ever you want to lay down some rubber or get crazy. It will really be two low though because you took out that front drive shaft. Now if you don't have posi, you might want to weld up those rear spider gears so that both tires burn cuz a one tire smoke show is pitiful to watch. Have fun!

Or if you have manual locking hubs don't lock them and put it in 4 low, now just put it in drive and and get on her. If you have auto hubs you should be able to unplug the vacuum actuator for the same effect.

That would be more work then what i suggested. Get out the floor jack... find a 't' bar or something to break the nuts loose with... and take off 10 nuts to change the rear tires... hauling this heavy jack and tires around is making me sweat...
Or unplug a vacuum line and put the four wheel drive shifter in low. Done. Or if he has manual locking hubs don't lock them and put it in 4 low. Done. Stoners hey? hehe

Not sure what car you have fdd but if its a gm then skip the 454 chevy go with a big block olds 455 and stroke it and overbore it. I had a nice 76 olds 442 with a stroked and bored 455 that would eat most anything on the road at the time. I had a 1964 olds jettstar that got stolen that had a stroked out 330 with a tripower carb setups and flat head pistons was nice but not as fast but little nicer on the gas. I have but only 1 old car left but I wanna get rid of it as I dont have time to restore it (1974 chevy chvelle/malibu with 350)and I want to get a 66 cougar or a 42 mercury lead slide and wannna chop it.Had a nice 59 chevey belair got stolen also lol most people dont have 1 car stolen I had 2 stolen. This one was all factory though but I had plans for her lol

looks like i may be going with the 350 punched out to 383. keeping my performer intake and my doug's headers. adding a cam and having the heads done. gonna bump my HP up about 70 more. looks like about $7000 parts and labor. should i do it?
