last night, came home from work about 1 am

was chilling reading some RIU

i knocked over my fresh glass of water, onto my horizontally sitting computer

the water goes in through the side case fan

hits the mobo, the cpu, the video card (gtx 260, so i was ALMOST out 220 bucks) and my power supply got soaked

in total i would be out about 1500$

BUT IT WORKSSSSS

i dont think you understand how happy i am

As long as electronics are not powered up while they are wet it doesn't really cause many problems.....if you spill water onto a comp that is on and turn it all off immediately your chances of the computer working again are pretty high

They leave pallets of computers outside at auctions in the rain and they still work after people buy em.
this i do not believe 1 bit

no intelligent individual would leave such sensitive equipment, that they are about to sell... in the rain

i dont believe you

ive gotten many of electronics wet. as long as its water and not something like a soda you should be fine. all you have to do is dry it out for a few days to be safe and all should be well.

They arent teaching you right.

I broke so many damn gameboys by droppin them in puddles and shit.

They always gave me false hope by lasting throughout the day then not working the next day.

It's an auction not a private person leaving their stuff in the rain.

I've been to many auctions that leave pallets of computers, tv's, furniture, whatever out in the rain. They often have more stuff than their wharehouses can reasonably hold so to have room to move around and even do the auctions they have to move half the stuff outside regardless of weather.

Government auctions etc, they don't care about shit. They could care less if they ruin stuff it's just all garbage to them anyway and not really their concern whether stuff still works or not. Much of the computer stuff is just too old to even care about all that will happen with it is gold recovery and scrapping them for recycling the parts.
Some pallets of computers are not even worth $1.
