I have a 7x10x8 grow area I will be running a portable ac with a dehumidifier..what lighting would I need and how many? Can I stick 2 or 3 400watt lights or what?

I have 1 fan thats 4" in there now witch is cooling it down for now but I will prob make a carbon filter for that 4" and close all wholes off in the grow area to run ac and the dehumidifier and c02 system..

The carbon/4" will be ran thru the light system to keep them cool but what can I do with the hot air? Let it back in the room and have the ac cool down the room? I dont want the ac on 12 hours constant ya know... Any help would be helpful.. Thank you..

Temp control is such a bugger.
I, personally, like to use outside air for light cooling. In from the outside, across the light, and back outside. With that set up, the AC in your room will not be nearly as taxed.

Using the AC to cool everything will be a bear. Not to mention the heat caused by the AC unit.
With a CO2 system you want the room air as sealed as possible. Then change overs are in your control.

Thats why I keep leaning towards LED lighting...

1. Less Heat
2. A/C Is portable so there wont be no heat pulling outside air in thats it
3. c02 Can be ran and get more outcome then I would without it
4. Stealth
5. Use that 4" for air circulation in my room

I think thats what Im going to do is save my $ and spend it on LED lighting...

Cost to run 1 is dirt cheap.. This winter maybe I will play around with 1watt LED's and try to build my own..

@ 10 cents per kwh is shit also so... To run a ac unit prob wont cost much due to the room is air tight and there is no leakes so the ac wont have to run all the time.. I want to keep reading up on these LED lighting threads...

& that pix is funny as shit lol!! You ever use to watch howard stern and gary the retard was on that show?

If I was going all out in a 7x10 room I would use 6x 600 HPS...

and I would keep the LEDs on the display of my equipment...

but that's only if you're serious...;-)

Yea 6 wont cut it lol.. Im not growin that much to even need 6 plus the electric would be $$$$$ and for 2 people livin here that would strike a check mark next to our name lol... Im doing a DIY LED grow light act looking up shit now..

I have a 5 x 10 grow room in legal state. It has 6ft ceiling, in basement. Is 1000 HPS to much with in-line venting. Evenually, I 'd go with 2 1000s. Would 3 600HPS be more effective? I realize venting is crucial.

I prefer 600s all day long... especially air cooled...

You can get them soooooo much closer than the 1Ks...

But that is MY preference....

I got 4 of them...

You do realize that an air conditioner simply moves heat from an undesirable space and moves it to a less undesirable space. If that "portable" a/c unit has an evaporator coil and the condensing coil (it takes both) located in the room then you are actually going to add heat at a greater rate than you will be able to cool it. The condensing process adds heat to the already hot freon lines and exhausts it thru the condensing coil. You need to stick that part out thru the wall (stealth?) or vent it out some other way.
