I agree, sitting down with those we disagree with is fine, but emulating them is not fine.

By the way, jrh, have you heard that Hugo Chavez has just nationalized the coffee industry in his country? All for a good cause, of course. It seems Chavez thinks the coffee growers were price gouging, evil profit makers. Is America's coffee sellers next on Obama's list?

Interesting. I'll have to check this story out. Central America does own a piece of my heart, after all...

However, Venezuelan coffee sucks IMO. Guatemalan coffee, grown in the hills of volcanic Antigua, is the BEST.

stays relevant.
Clinton "didn't go to negotiate this, he went to reap the fruits of the negotiation," Sneider said.

new updates, ............. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_us_nkorea_analysis

WASHINGTON – The Obama administration let North Korean leader Kim Jong Il save face by releasing two jailed Americans to former President Bill Clinton. The payoff — maybe not right away — is likely to be renewed dialogue with Pyongyang about its nuclear weapons program.

"Bill Clinton undertook the mission, a senior administration official said, only after the North assured the White House that the reporters would be freed and allowed to return home with the former president."

The problem is they are emulating them. I am happy to see the two women are back home again, I can't help calling the US government hypocrites ... when it politically suits them to get all bend out of shape when a country holds innocent Americans ... they have no problem holding people indefinitely, even though they were proven to be innocent. So the US government is already emulating so called rogue countries.

The US policy is they can illegally hold people but other country can not ... unless the US wants them to.:spew:

There are a lot of facets to this story, but the one I would really like an answer to is what concessions were made? You know nothing is free, so what did we "give in" to for them to come home?
And this generic "renewed dialogue with Pyongyang about its nuclear weapons program" is just so much political rhetoric that really doesn't say anything specific.
Need facts !

Maybe the "concession" was: "We'll let you keep the two American women in exchange for a U.S. Nuclear warhead up your ass." :o

yeah this story sounded a little funny to me too. i think that this maybe have to do something with NK calling hillary clinton "stupid" and that she "looks like a schoolgirl" (or some shit i forgot the exact insults but close enough) and hillary said some shit too and maybe somebody talked to somebody else and she sent bill over to talk and get those girls out.

idk who the fuck knows? thats just my speculation. bongsmilie

Supposedly, all Kim wanted in return was this photo back.

Looks like you were right Mexi... Cudos. it was negotiated before he left the ground... and supposedly wanted THIS photo op for some sort of propaganda. God knows what he really got.
