The effects to the common man.

I'm a 'common' man....

I can't get free health care because I make too much.
I can't afford to live without credit because everything costs so much.
I have an average house, in an average neighborhood and drive an average car.
I went to and completed college in order to provide for myself and my family in an 'honest' manner.
I have paid 100% + 6% interest for that college education.

How things have changed in the last 6 months.

I will soon get 'free' health care because the government will raise my taxes to provide it for me. This 'free' health care won't cover a procedure I'm required to have annually because I'm not 'qualified' (over 40.) So in 'conjunction' with my future 'free' health care I will also have to carry private health insurance (which I already carry for $245 a month.) I just got notified from my insurance company that I will have to re-evaluate my insurance needs when the new laws pass because their costs will go so high that my current insurance cost will increase 300%. So the federal government is taking my money (without my permission) to provide me with health care that won't take care of me and fixing prices for private health care so high that I will not be able to afford it. I will be dead in 9 years. Six months ago, my insurance covered my procedures and I had an 'average' life expectancy.

I reviewed my credit cards today as I do ever month. After many years of on time payments all of my interest rates have doubled because the government has ruled that credit companies can no longer charge people for violation of their contractual agreements. So they have decided that before the law goes into effect they'll mile ALL their customers for all their worth.

These two issues are the talk of my average neighborhood. I can't buy an American car because I'm unwilling to pay interest on a vehicle that is produced almost in whole by the federal government on my tax dollar. So to buy another 'average' car I have to take a loan at roughly a 15 - 20% interest rate to pay for a car that my taxes have built.

My property insurance has increased over 30% in one year to offset the costs of supporting people other than me. I pay $9,000 a year to educate children that are not mine, and $3000 a year to pay for 'storm water runoff' fees that I do not contribute to because of my 'green' behavior. (Rain Barrels and runoff to well setup that cost.... $2000.)

At the current rate my taxation will be slightly more than 52% of my income and my bills will be almost 75% of my income due to the hikes caused by government control. I HAD been one of the few living within my means.

In short the government is going requiring me to donate to a health care charity that I currently do not need but will due to their new policies. They are forcing me deeper into debt by controlling the credit card companies who previously were only punishing the irresponsible.

Throw that all in with the fact that the only means of 'removing' these problems from my life is to commit a felony and traffic a substance that the federal government unjustly classifies as a Schedule 1 narcotic.

Can some one please tell me why the people aren't rebelling? I would also like to know why the countries most publicized worry is where someone was fucking born?

I'm so fucking done with this nation.

Where did you get this information? The health care bill is in it's infant stages, so I didn't think they made any decisions like this about coverage of specific procedures. Are you speaking theoretically? Because I'm quite sure that under any kind of health care system we implement, you can get almost any necessary and preventative procedure paid for if recommended by your PCP.

They haven't even passed a damn health care bill yet, so of course they don't know the details. And I'm all for health care - it's progress, not the country going to the 'shitter'. Have you experienced socialized healthcare, other than what you heard? Maybe you should 'wake up' as your parlance indicates.

They better know all the details before they pass a Bill, and any bill for that matter. What the Fuck is wrong with people voting on bills no one has even read. They sneak so much pork into these bills it Pisses me off!

It isn't healthcare it is EUGENICS. You are a fool As your prediction the economy will be fixed by april of next year. April Fools...

I never said the economy would be fixed - I said the recession would be over. The recession is measured by different factors. Negative growth is an important factor in this measurement. By April of next year, positive growth will begin for the first time in months, thus pulling us out of the recession. It's me prediction. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong...

And if healthcare is eugenics, then why is it that almost every country with a higher life span than the US has socialized health care? They all live longer, yet they have healthcare. There are other factors at play, but the evidence still stands.

Diet has more to do with longevity than health care does.
I said there were other factors, but the evidence still stands. Healthcare has a lot to do with it.

I honestly have a hard time understanding why people are so opposed to it. I understand the tax payer funding, but we fund all kinds of useless shit. At least this is a positive.

And I don't think the government is using healthcare as a pretext to control us. This scenario follows the situation to it's most irrational end and uses it as evidence against. Preposterous.

I've always been fascinated with socialized medicine since traveling some ten years ago and realizing it was THE standard all around the world at that time. I wondered why we're virtually the only developed country without it. I still cannot figure it out other than the brainwashing the populus was fed - same with socialism. Put young handsome Reagan on the radio denouncing the red scare and everyone's terrified.

Even on this forum, where one usually encounters a plethora of arguments, I've yet to hear a logical reason for not implementing socialized health care. No one even cares about this issue anymore here. It's all Alex Jones, Obama's birth certificate, and conspiracy bullshit. Let's debate actual issues, like healthcare!

I'm sorry to hear about your situation RetiredToker, all we can do is hope they realize what they're doing and change course.

Stay up brother :joint:

I don't even know why I pay for the health care I have now, I have only used it once ever and it was for $649. I rarely get sick, and if I do, some soup and rest usually does me fine. I guess the only reason I have it is in case something catastrophic happened. If the gubbermint is going to make me pay for it regardless if I use it or not well then I guess I will use it, cuz If im gonna be forced to use it, then im gonna force them to show me the benefits of it. You ll see me there everyday complaining of some new pain or malady, waiting for a handout of drugs to cure my ills. I do have this hangnail that needs someone to take x-rays of and do some bloodwork for.

I tried debating you in another thread.

You just straight up ignored me after I refuted every negative
thing in the bill.

Just what retired toker has just talked about.

I talked about not wanting to pay for it, and how we will all be forced
to foot the bill for the poor who are too lazy to work, and for the

illegals who pushed their damn wanting of free health care upon us
tax payers.

RetiredToker, I see what this bill is going to do. I have signed petitions
and sent pre-written letters to my representatives telling them to

oppose the bill. If I can find the links, I will send them to you
and you can petition also.

For some reason, even after reading your post, jhr still doesn't understand
what this fucked up socialist health care plan will do to our country.

he wants to be controlled by uncle same and get robbed for the money
he worked oh so hard for like you have.

why someone would WANT to be forced to pay for health care
for the entire nation and illegals is beyond me.

Here's my logic...
Free people make their own decisons, they don't have them made for them by government. Why couldn't there be "voluntary" participation rather than mandatory?

No, YOU don't understand child. You don't. Get some experience, travel a bit, and educate yourself beyond what you learn here on this right wing propaganda machine.

We are forced to pay for all kinds of useless shit (of which health care is not) - it's reality. And I don't mind helping 'illegals' as you call them. I've seen where most of these illegals come from and I don't blame them for coming here. I have compassion for the poor and the forgotten. Social injustice is what keeps me going and health care is a huge step to bridge that divide. So go complain about another $2.50 on your taxes to someone else. Poor you - you have to pay more taxes. WAAAHHHH!!!!! You have a lot to see and a lot to learn kid.

Thank you for admitting you endorse force.

It's good to help others, how does being forced to pay for something you don't want qualify as "good" .

Yep, Drug War, anyone? Who do you think is paying for that with their tax dollars? (It's not me, I'll tell you that much)

I guess it's what we get for living in a country where the rights of the individual get trampled on because the rights of the group as a whole are somehow worth more.

I agree, health care is not useless. If you think about it, the average person is just as screwed either way. Either there's a money-hungry corporation doling out your health services, or it's doled out by a money-hungry government. Neither of which have a vested interest in your ACTUAL health, so long as the monthly payments keep on coming in.

The only aspect I'm worried about is this supposed mandate that would require us all to carry health insurance. I can't afford it now, and unless the gov't wants to hand out some pretty serious subsidies that isn't going to change just because someone on Capitol Hill says I'm required to purchase a policy.

Does everyone need coverage? Well, yeah, for a few different reasons which should be obvious to anyone with knowledge on the subject.

The ONLY way to ensure coverage for everyone in America is to nationalize our health care system. I believe the "reform" bill is nothing but a thin veil. I think the bill is meant to destroy the private insurance industry so we'll be more "openminded" about a nationalized health care system once we're left with no alternative.

Sound silly? Maybe... but consider the backlash we're already seeing and the bill HASN'T EVEN PASSED YET! There's no way that Congress would be able to pass a law instituting a national health care system at this moment in time. So they're going to break us down first in order to get us to see things their way.

Just my two cents.

Firstly, there but for the grace of God go I... while I have also seen where they are coming from... I don't know if you understand where they are going to.

Did you know that over 1/3 of our prison population (in southern states) are illegals who are in prison for crimes OTHER than being here (21% nationwide http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/prisons.htm)? I mean... it isn't like we are getting the best and brightest. They aren't all sweet hard working folks who send all their money home. MS13, and latin kings are a serious problem which is only getting more serious.

"While Hispanics were more likely to commit both property and violent offenses with others, they committed violent offenses with others at a significantly higher rate than did whites and blacks; and they committed property offenses with others at a significantly lower rate than did whites and black. There were no significant differences between whites and blacks. We tentatively suggest that relative differences in cultural valorization of goals--wealth and property for whites and blacks, and honor for Hispanics--may be a factor in these differences, and that delinquency committed with others would likely involve a shared, more valorized goal, and those committed alone would likely involve less valorized goals."

Everybody can't be an American... regardless of compassion. We cannot sustain ourselves AND Mexico.
