Crossing a Path Once Crossed

Great. A diatribe. The motive isn't there. Initially the tin-foil hat society said Bush staged the attacks to boost his approval ratings, and now we're saying it's for oil. What will be the motive in another few years when no energy gains are realized?

As I said, I'm no government fanboy, but I'm also not going to believe we killed 2 thousand people just to go to war... and remember, after 9/11 we went to war with Afghanistan Taliban and Al Queda forces, not Iraq. War was declared on Iraq after Saddam refused to uphold his end of the U.N. sanctions imposed against his dumb ass.

finally someone with a brain!

I'm not saying you're a chump, I'm just offering a different perspective. I work in the Oil and Gas industry. If spikes in foreign oil occurred, I would be privy to it. The reliability of America's natural gas and power networks are tightly coupled with foreign imports of said resources. It's not as if the government could sneak that shit in, because there are facilities and transmission systems with pre-defined constraints and volumes that must be scheduled, balanced and managed to ensure you and I have the ability to banter back and forth on an internet forum about 9/11. :)

If we were "sneaking" Iraqi oil into the U.S., first we'd have to find some way to bring it stateside in tankers, which are already at a premium in the market. We'd have to expand the fleet to handle the increase in volumes, and that isn't happening.

Second, middle-eastern facilities lack the refining facilities necessary to process crude into refined products for use, which means we would have to store said crude and over-tax our refineries, which isn't happening.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that this nation is run off greed. If your accusations were correct, we'd see some sort of infrastructure/monetary change in the underlying markets, which we haven't. We have actually seen the opposite.

The premise your proposing just doesn't make sense. If... I mean IF the government were to do something that heinous, it would be for some other reason, because the market indicators just aren't there to support your theory.

kay im not a chump but i see where your going with the no reason to invade iraq and afghanastan and iraq.
but the G just wanted to attack those countres cuz of the taliban was really an afghan thing and iraq was a country known to be in distress because of saddam so to throw off the medias attention while trained agents dig in the desert for oil that was known to be there

They have plenty of reason to start a war, profit. Look at how many wars were profited on by the banks. Funding both sides of the wars. Hitler was funded by the same people we were funded by. Starting to get the picture? I wonder why they would start wars, hmm. They pit nations against each other under "false flags".

Its not just about oil.
Its about long term stratigic needs.
We now have Iran enrounded.
Over a dozen major military bases in Iraq.
We occupy Afganistan.
We have bases in central asia.
Pakisatan is currently an 'Ally'.

We have cut off the oil shipments from Iraq as a stratigic reserve of oil.
Preventing its use in the future by our enemies.
What we are seeing is 21st century East India Trading Company shit.
Its the ultimate expresion of the military industrial complex.
Global military hedgmony.

Showcased in a way that no nation would say we are in the wrong.
We are fighting terrorism after we were brutally attacked.
It was right there on CNN.
We are defending ourselves,
indeed we are defending the people of the world.
We are the good guys.

Truely it was a stroke of true genius.
Who benifted by the attacks?
Everyone really.
the terrorists will have green recruits entering service for years.
The arms companies make money hand over fist.
The oil companies make record profits.
We secure military hedgmony over vast swathes of precious resources.
All it costs us is a few dumb kids willing to police occupied Iraq.
And a few hundred thousand useless eaters.

It isn't like they cost anything. Anonymity costs only 5 minutes... other than being a violation of TOS I think I remember reading.
