Now this woman may not be on your radar but she was a terrific tennis player and honestly, I just like saying her name. Evonne Goolagong!! What a name!! I'd like you to meet my friend, Miss Evonne Goolagong.......
If we had ever hooked up in real life and decided to get hitched, I would have insisted on being called Mr. Goolagong!! No No, I'll change Evonne....Mr. Goolagong!!

Today is also Ted Cassidy's birthday. He was in a lot of movies, but I'll always remember him as Lurch!

Hey Ho! J-O! how are things away from ATX? You ever read the story of the Essex that inspired MD? really a chilling tale. Good to find you bro.
Pretty good. It's been raining all week here. Almost unheard of in those parts mid-summer.

I'd say the thing I miss most about Austin is Veggie Heaven. I do not miss the wail of sirens 24/7. It was six weeks before I heard one following the move, and I jumped a little.

I knew about the Essex in reference to the novel, but have never sat down to read an authoritative account. I should make a point to do that.

How are you?

What a classic Moby Dick is.

Okay, today, I'm picking a fav of mine....... Myrna Loy. She's up there as a classic actress from the past. Only Irene Dunne tops her in my book, if only because Irene had a knockout voice to boot.
But it's Myrna's B-Day so move over Irene (push)....

I like all the all the classic beauties you come up with. Makes me wonder why so many girls go to such extremes for it..

I'll say happy birthday to Frederic Auguste Bartholdi today.

He did create this for us.
