.I truly believe my crappy bagseed, grown by a newb with 1 crappy nute, looks as good as they do because I have the light RIGHT IN THEIR FACE ALL THE FREAKING TIME... RIGHT THERE!!!

I have no arguments, and you are very right that light in their face all the time is def going to maximize the potential. I am just wondering how big the drop off is if you put it on the mover. we need a side by side controlled test just like "Someguy" did with his parabolic HID scrog and the flat floro scrog. Any guinea pigs???

There are other variables to consider. Some ballasts can run on 220 thus reducing the amount of amps you are pulling and you could put 2X1000 on the same circuit. Plus the while the 1000 doesn't make light as efficiently it does produce more overall light. And for the lumens factor think this way. It is like adding speakers as someone else mentioned. You don't actually add the lumens, however you have a more even distribution of the same power. 2x600 HPS will never make the same INTENSITY that a 1000 watt will. Physics just doesn't work like that. To each his own tho, blaze uses 600's and makes forests with them. Find what best suits your own style and op.

but remember that the power company charges in killowatt hours,and watts are volts x amps,so 10 amps at 110volts and 5 amps at 220 are still pulling thesame watts.you prob already know that,i just wanted to clairify that 220 lights dont save any on the electricity bill.

I use a 6' light rail sometimes, and the extra coverage area is almost made up for by being able to put the lights closer to the plants.i say dual 600 light rail is far better than a single 1000.1000 is hot,but the 600 can come right down on top of the plants if you keep thwm moving.you need alot of room to justify the use of a rail,and the recangle shap growing area can be hard to accomodate in some situations.

Ill just stick to spinning my plants around and moving my lights manually every now and then to keep maximising my lighting coverage. Its worked well for me so far and is no hassle so I dont see any reason to change it.

yeah I only mentioned the 220 so that you can put more lights on the same circuit. I know that power is constant and does not depend on the voltage. Thanks for the info just in case I didn't know tho

yeah, it was more for the newbs reading thins,lol. ive used 2x 1000 on a 30 amp circuit but ran the pumps off its own circuit.two 1000s and the pumps too is too close to 30 amps for me.

How bout we say this.... (Cuz i have deff seen the amazing results that gypsy and blaze have produced with their multiple light setups) Linear light movers with 2 600 or 1000 would only be very beneficial if you have a 4X20 or something silly like that. But in the case of some of these peeps making 20'X20' rooms you could have 5 different hallways with 2 lights each. Would make a hell of SOG wouldn't u think gypsy. I know I am not gonna sway you from stationary lights, cuz we all know that is gonna be the best, but for the sake of pondering the issue. Could you make up for the loss in yield with sheer numbers?

That gives you 5 separate 80 sq.ft or 24 sq. meter hallways. You can do the math better on the numbers for SOG than I can. How many lights would you put in a similar situation without using movers, just curious..

i have a small room and cannot afford to run multiple lights so i use a linear light mover with a 7 sec delay on the ends to even out the outside edge of my grow space

Don't forget the T5...for a compact Afghan strain my 8 row 48" T5 is doing a better job than the 600W HPS. Flowering is anouther matter and so is removing the heat from a large T5 setup. The T5 with the hood and vent work done to it....just as laughable as the LED. I would like to see a liquid cooling system placed on a T5.
