SoG Grow Room Discussion

That coolbox is the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life I think. All this time, i've been trying to solve how to ventilate my hot air; and how to retain CO2, and you've come up with the answer.

ty hwy420, and welcome aboard
this is my final prototype; it is fully SoG certified ;)
there's a lot more that meets the eye with my design
I've spent a lot of time and my own money to develop the CoolBox

also created an 8" baby version; same as the large 12" unit I'm using
fabricated matching duct flanges sets to go with each
the 8" unit has 6" or 8" duct flange set to go with,
and the 12" unit has 6", 8", 10", 12" duct flange set to choose from,

the duct flanges can be mixed for the intake and outlets
the main coil body is stackable, with as many as you want

these units; and a double stacked 12"
will be displayed on Everest supplies booth
this upcoming hydroponic supply show in San Francisco (25th&26th)
my CoolBox will be offered to the public (i hope) shortly; through www.bghydro.com

i didn't plan this; and I'm not a sponsor on this site;
pretty sure i cant advertise these here,... yet

I went looking for the tough boxes today and found that home depot no longer has any in stock. I also called SMA and they are no longer at the number listed for them on the net.
However I found a Stanley that is really large for $60. So It has me thinking that with that big of res, I could add another side to the system maybe even 4 rails a side. I would go with a 633 pump. If Im right I could build a system with 64 sites with a width of 39 inch by 12ft.long.
Any takes on this.

Thanks

Awesome man; well I must say that you are a unique individual; with some fascinating capabilities. I've been drilling 4" holes through the walls in my house & i'm about to stop all that. I'm in the process of building in my grow room, and I want to do a Aero2 36 Site SOG. I hear SOG's are where it's at, so I really thank you for introducing me into the world of it, and as well as the pictures, the were very informing. I'll keep an eye on the website for that "CoolBox" (again sweet shit bro); i'll be ready in my room in the next couple of months; and i'll send a link.

SoG,

Will you be showing off the CoolBox yourself at the show? If so, wish I could be there to put a face to the name. Feel like I know you from these Forums. I use to live in Tahoe for a lot of years, so it would have been an easy drive over to the Bay. Now I live in the Pacific Northwest...any chance you might be going up to the HempFest in Seattle in August to show the CoolBox? For that matter, any SoGolytes or StinkBuddies going to the HempFest? I'm thinking of going and it would be great to meet some of you.
P.S. Hope to move back to the Tahoe area in the not to distant future...really miss that area.

i will not be attending the show myself, it all kind of happened on the fly
the show is aimed mainly for distributors, handed the units to the owners to present

Gotcha...Well, hope they market it well for you. It definately looks like a piece of equipment that a LOT of us could put to good use. Looking forward to seeing what kind of price points they come out with for each size. Man...you go from putting together a prototype in a matter of months to potentially having it mass marketed! Great work! And all the success to you my friend!

Hi SOG, I hope you are well today. I just have a couple of questions.. How did you install your EasyGrow Lightight Reflective film between your insulation and your drywall? Is that the manufacturer recommended place to set it up? Would you recommend the Silver White Lightite, over the diamond fusion version? https://www.jollygreenhydro.com/onlinestore/product.php?printable=Y&productid=16701

I want to eliminate hotspots as easily as possible. I'll sleep better.

I also wanted to inquire about your insulation. It appears to be R-13; were you going more of a Thermal insulation or a Sound insulation?

sup hwy420
i installed it with the silver portion facing my property
the difference between the foils aside for the diamond infusion
is that the fusion version is more tear resistance
if you install the way i did you don't need to go with the diamond fusion
as that will help distribute the light better when exposed to light
the fusion part is not effective when installed behind the Sheetrock
i have posted all technical specs for the reflective foils from easy grow on my journal
i also quoted an email from the owners of easy grow
which i spoke with over the phone and his recommendation
in more detail

as for my insulation, i was going for the thickest i could get
for both sound and weather insulation, my room is located inside my attic
surrounded from all sides and ceiling with scorching attic buildup heat of up to 140f+ easy

i hope this helps, and best of luck with your project
don't forget to keep us posted ;)
