okey so my heat in my flowering tent is getting hot and i order a new bigger fan ( canfan 6" 440cfm) to replace my old 6"309cfm active air. but what iam woundering if i can cut my light time down to like 4-6hr ON instead of the 12/12. till my new fan comes in.

Would imagine if you reduced your lighting time to that, the plant would think it was at the end of its life cycle. The light regime you are talking of would be like deep winter! Stick with the high temps, will do your plants less harm.

well the problem is that with the 92 to 100 temp they are wilted at the end of 12hr and i also have to water them every day like drench the soil so it can retain the water and make it throught the next 12hr of light. but the short term of light is only for like 2 more days hopefully. bc as soon as my new fan comes in it will be going right back to 12/12

idk if bringing down the # of light hours is good or bad for the plant. Im kinda on the same boat as Geozander, i think lessening the light cycle might confuse the plant or stress it out...... IDK, but i hope it works out for ya

are you extractingthe hot air completelyout of the grow tent & the room it is in??? Try buy a portable air conditioner or a window AC. 92-100 is really hot. That's dangerous for the privacy & well being of your grow.

Deffinately dnt change the light cycle

Yeah dont change the light schedule, its totally not worth it. The heat would be the lesser of the evils. If you change the schedule, and then change it back when you get the new fan your plants will likely hermie on you.
I had the same problem (heat) in my tent. i dont know if a 440 CFM is going to be that much better than the 309 CFM. I made DIY cooltube out of a large glass hurricane lantern. It only cost me 7 bucks at the craft store. It effectively reduced the temp in my tent by 10 degrees or more, and allowed me to put my plants much closer to the light. I use a 435 CFM 6 in fan and i also exhaust through a DIY carbon filter I made.
In a cool tube -VS A/C contest. I like the cooltube. (admittedly i use both LOL) Both cost about the same (around a hundred bucks), and will reduce the temp in your tent, but the cooltube is FREE to run, and wont lower your RH.
Peace, n good luck!

yes i have everthing and the running ont he 6hr of light instead of 12hr is like really short term light a day or 2. and two i have a daystar ac hood that i have hooked up but my current exhuat fan is going to be hooked up to it and my new 440cfm is my new exhaust. but reall will 2 day of 6hr light put my kids into hermi?

O i have a window ac unit and it keep the room at like 70-72 its the part of having the cool air pumped into the tents and i think this bigger fan (440cfm) will help with that and if not i will put in intake fan for the tents

IDK keep posting and we'll all find out LOL.
2 days probably wont hurt, but you could have just tossed a couple CFL's above them. Hardly any heat and you wouldn't have to fu&k with the light schedule. Thats just not the right answer at all man!
And my mom says that she's pissed at you because you make her do most of the "gradning". LOL

my plant are 3 months old(started from seed), i was told that the plant would show sex after 2 months. well its been 3, so i cut the light down to 12/12 so they would show(and they did).

i got rid of the males and now want to clone but i need a little more veg. can i put back to 18/6 so i can clone and mother them. or put under 24/7 to show who's the boss.

so my question is will this mess my plants up, how long will it take for it to go back to veggin, will i make them turn hermaphrodite, if i run the risk of turning herms. how long do i need to ved before i'm in the clear. or will they just go back to veggin.

thank for the help is my first grow

Put them on 24/0 to revert back to veg. 18/6 will take wayy longer if it works at all. Go 24/0 and you should not have to worry about hermies unless the strain is unstable to begin with.

there still growing buds even on 24/0 and the leafs are getting more sugar on them. i transplanted them into ff ocean & forest on 7/27 that should be good
Its just a waiting game now. Be patient. Your lights at this point should be primarily of blue spectrum. IDK for sure but red spectrum lighting may not be ideal for re-vegging. Spectrum does seem to matter much more than a lot of folks think. Just another thought for you. Every little bit helps. Good luck. :peace:

yes i have 6500k 40watt flouros, i just want to clone. the lower stems are not budding and that what i want to clone because of lower (N) levels. i feel like the clones will take forever to root because of the light change even if they don't have buds

what do u all think, should i wait or clone the lower stems.
