Foothill Filter w/240cfm fan

Hey everyone I got this thing installed in my closet (4wx6hx2.3width) and I am running a 400w hps light. I am wondering if this scrubber and fan will be enough to exhaust the hot air? the size of the axial fan is 6 3/4" and is rated 240cfm.

I want to know if this fan will be capable of exhausting the hot air produced by the light.

also I have 2x 6" passive vents at the bottom bringing in a/c'ed air from my other room.

it is a horizontal reflector, not cool tubed.

:joint:

any info or understanding will be greatly appreciated.

I reckon it should be ok,best thing to do is try it,but it sounds good to me,
plus the two passive air vents are bringing in air conditioned air which is sweet :)

thanks for your reply. im only worried b/c someone mentioned that using an axial fan is not good for back pressure with a scrubber. its a 240cfm axial fan 6 3/4".

this is my first grow, and i want it scrub the odors. should i have it above the reflector and light or same height of the light and reflector?

I would recommend having the carbon scrubber above the light/reflector because heat rises, and that's the air you should be concerned about scrubbing and keeping in movement.

I plan on placing my Carbon Scrubber in the very tip top of my grow room b/c heat rises and CO2 falls. I plan on putting a dual hose portable ac unit to keep it cool.

any comments on the axial fan and scrubber? i am really hoping this axial fan 240cfm and scrubber will be able to pull clean and exhaust the unwanted hot air.....any ideas?

anything i can do to tilt the edge for working more than likely? LOL

I can keep the door closet door open during the lights are on....

thanks for the input
That will help out alot i think.Usally you lose about 30% of your cfm's going through a filter.I have a small 2x2x6 grow tent and have a foothill filter and it cools my lights. My fan is 535 cfm though.

yea wish i got a inline or vortex....but i think i will be able to pull it off.....well at least i hope hah.....

how many plants do you usually put in your space? and how do you calculate carbon filter cfm....cause i was planning on buying a cage fan maybe 465cfm cage fan, but i dont know if it will do for my carbon scrubber.....its a 8x14"

what do you think about if i replaced the axial fan with a cage fan (active air exhaust 465cfm) and used the axial fan to bring in cooler air?

i could do this as well...

I think that would work better. But check the add for your size filter,It should say recommended cfm needed.I have a speed controller on my fan. That way i can dial it in to the right setting.I have down 3,but that was cramped.2 worked pretty good if you keep them trimmed good. The 3 plant grow where auto's and i got 3oz dry,2 plant grow got me 6 oz.And just finished a single white berry and got 7 1/2 oz off the one plant.

i checked the add but it doesnt say anthing about the cfm needed, only states it comes with a 240cfm fan. is there a way to calculate it out?

wow thats amazing.....great results....im going for 40 plants in 1gallon grow bags SOG. Lollipopping, topping.

using tiger bloom, grow big, and big bloom nutes. might add some mollasses later on. promix as the soil as well... my aim is for 20z....

You should just fire it up and run the system for a couple days and see what happens.

ok for the experts on air ventilation....if i hook up a modded stanley blower to my carbon filter would this be ok.

im not sure how to calculate whether my specific carbon scrubber will be ok to use with this blower. some say the medium or level 2on the blower is like 256 dayton scrubber. i really dont know but would like to know.

i saw so many people hooking it up to cooltubes but no pics of the carbon scrubbers. this would be perfct if i could and not affect my scrubbers performance.

thanks
