Hey Everyone,
This is my first grow so any extra advice would be good. Using a 150W sun system HPS from sun systems for one plant. The seed was planted yesterday after it sprouted from germination in 48 hours. It has been under a 18/6 light schedule. The problem is that I think the closet is getting too hot. When the lights are on the temp hovers around 82-85 F! I am leaving the door open to allow the room to ventilate only when the light is on. There are two fans in there circulating air but thats it. There is no exhaust system(other then door being open) because I live in an apartment and the only way to make an exhaust would be to cut a hole in the wall and I cant do that. Also the door for the closet is one of those accordion types so I had to seal up the sides good with black trash bags to keep light out when it is in its dark phase. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Is your ballast remote? If so, getting it out of the room will help a little.

I have a similar setup and problem. I have 2 fans in the closet, no real ventilation; just using the cracks where I can move air.

It did help, my temp. is around 80 all the way up to 85 when it did get real hot outside; my plants are fine. I vent them closet whenever possible when the light is on.
I also have to water almost every day, the soil im using and the heat they just suck up the water. Dry all the way to the bottom of the cups

80- 85 degrees isnt ideal, but youre plants will do fine man. \

these are 2 weeks old in the same temp range as you have, you just gotta babysit them a little exta.

Thanks for the reply ink. I feel much better, I was already getting a little worried. Im good for now I guess but hopefully I can come up with something better when she flowers because I cant have the whole place smelling even more then normal due to the door being open

see if you can cut a hole in the closet so you can use a 4inch duct fan.You have to take out the hot air and exhaust it out so fresh air can come on your plants.Your plants need a source of fresh air.

Thanks for the reply.Thats my dilemma...I cant cut any holes as I am renting the place and it would be rather obvious when I moved out. Also the closet door is made of metal so I cant cut that either.... any other suggestions?

then you are going to have to keep the door open.So your room can ventilate and get fresh air.If you have a a/c running crack the door open with a duct to go in the closet.just a thought

You could buy another door the same size as your existing one. Make a hole in the top and bottom of the door for intake/exhaust using CPU fans.
Keep another small fan in the room too, really keep the air moving.

For stealth you can kinda hide the holes using a cheap hanging mirror from Wallyworld for around $10.

That actually sounds possible. I think i'm gonna start looking to see how much those doors cost....thanks again ink! btw my seed just sprouted after only two days of being under the soil its about the height of a penny already!
