One of mine in my first gro (she is still flowering) "Ellie" smells alot like cat piss.
I think it's normal, I've heard of it before and smoked some similar smelling stuff. I wouldn't worry, prob gonna b killer shit.:joint:

alright, finally got some updated pictures of my stinky girl. What should I call it when I smoke it with friends? Shes really not a bad looking plant. It is my first autoflowering plant and my second all time plant. The dead leaves at the bottom are because I added fox farms nutrients to the water and I do not think she liked them much.

MP377T - First off, the yellow leaves at the bottom of the plant are 100% normal. When a plant starts producing bud it steals energy stored in your plants leaves, starting with the lower ones, to produce the buds.

With an AF strain this happens much sooner than a non AF since technically it starts its "flower" stage as soon as it sprouts.

As far as the cat shit smell, pinch a bud between your fingers and smell your fingers. Then rub 2 different fingers on a leaf and/or stem and smell your fingers. If you dont smell the catshit smell it is most likely your soil. From my experiences with growing, the nastier something smells the more your plants will love it. So if your plant itself doesnt smell like that maybe its the soil or ferts, and the plants should thrive off of it.

Hope everything turns out good, your plants are looking very nice! I love AF strains, been growing Diesel Ryders for a few months now and I dont know if I will every grow a non AF strain again lol. 8 weeks seed to harvest is pretty damn hard to beat! No, it's not the soil, the smell really isn't as bad as I may have made it seem lol. The smell is a little different though, way different than my first plant which was bagseed. Maybe I just seems way different because this plant is more potent and obviously a different strain.

Also no more leaves have died since I stopped using my fox farms nutrients. I guess I could try to make the mixture even more dilluted? It was weird just like two days after starting to use the nutrients thats when the first set of leaves started to died, then a day after the next set of leaves started so I was like wtf. I understand the leaves died when your plant is budding, but it just seemed a little weird they started to died right after I started it on nutrients. It does seem very healthy without nutrients however. I was using tiger bloom and big bloom...you think I should just use tiger bloom?

One of my Indica bagseeds smells HORRIBLE...

Ever been to a feed store in the country?

Or a pig farm?

Imagine a human ATE THAT SMELL...

Now imagine that that human went home and filled his gut with refried beans...

Now imagine that dude got locked in a 100% carpet room for a week...

A week of spraying FEED STORE/BEAN DIARRHEA, and letting it set...

That comes close to what this strain smells like green on the plant...

I can't even have a whole batch of her... it will make me gag if I go in there...

BUT...

BUT...

after drying and about a 4 week cure... it smells like the best semi-sweet Swiss chocolate...

It's smooth... and resembles nothing of what it used to smell like green...

I find that I like at least a 4 week cure... especially with the very strong/foul smelling strains...

..


On the other hand... I have this juicy Fruit that tastes better (in my opinion) with only a week's cure...

Anymore and it starts to loose that "wrigley's" flavor I like in it so much..:lol:

So my point is.. if your buds WREAK (well, any buds really)... cure them and chances are you will find a very different taste and smell...

Hope this didn't make anyone puke... I guarantee the actual smell would...:spew:
