because I not speak the best english I will keep it short:

1-- I have 5000 kelvin bulbs. will this suffice for vegetation?

2-- I am having trouble with stretching, how do I work away from this?

are your bulbs florecent or standard light bulbs?

if your having a streching problem then move your lights within a few inches (5-8 cm) from the tops of your plants

i dont know much about indoor growin but i would assume that that light would work. is it florecent? as for the streching lowering your light will eliminate that problem

my bulbs are compack fl. I have read many times that you can place your bulbs very near the plants but, a few times now I have had burns. Even from these low heat bulbs.
Thanks my english is good because it takes me fucking long to type! HaHa. Would you be able to tell me the safest length to have the bulb? There is no airflow for these small newly born, so I cannot put the bulbs too close.

to avoid streching keep ur cfl's 2inches away from the plants at all times, u can veg with that amount of light, ( i have done it with good results ) i would invest in a hps to flower tho ur yeild will benefit grately. good luck m8

well you should have a fan blowing on them anyways, that will keep things cool and it will make the stem stronger.

my rule of thumb for figuring out how far to have a bulb is this place your hand near the bulb and see how close you can get before you feel the warmth and put your bulb that far a way

by the way everyone if he speaks french he uses the metric system, put light distances in terms of CM so he knows that your talking about. would you know what i ment if i said "i got about a stone worth of weed from this guy"

Thank you to all that have answered my questions. I have in the last 2 days noticed that my plants have finished stretching. I was keeping the bulbs actually very close but then, I also was putting them into the flower room at night with the others, and so of course the light is higher than in the vegg room.

No air? Try to get a small clip on fan at least.

5000k are fine. its better to have the bulbs a bit far than burning them and giving the stress.

Get a thermometer and watch the temps.

if you have an old computer you can use one of the fans from that. when i started my plants inside thats what i used. works great for seedlings up to about a foot tall. any more than that and i would try to get a bigger one.

On this note. Some say use a power supply out of a comp, I found its better to use an external cd drive with its own power button and draws less power and you can hook as many fans up as you can wires almost.
Just remove the cd rom.
