A little paranoid on getting busted, need some advice

Okay so, I didn't start yet. I have all the equipment and I was planning on starting in 2 weeks. I never told anyone that I know in person that I am going to grow. The only person that knew was people online. One person online tho knew my phone number, name and the state and city that I live in. He doesn't know my address. I uploaded a video on youtube just showing off my grow room and stuff.

The other day me and him got into a huge fight basically. He basically said that he was going to 'turn me into the cops'. He lives in AZ, and I live half way across the country from him. He said he has that video of youtube of my grow room (not showing anything illegal in it.) and chat logs that i'm going to grow. He also said that basically, he was going to call a station where I live and report it. Do you guys think I should change my phone # (cell) and then wait like a good 1-2 months and then start? What are the odds of my house being raided if I start growing you think? Will a cop take someones word like that across the country?

Yeah, I know. I regret giving this person my phone number. I gave it to him before I was even planning on growing tho.

Ah, lol so you guys don't even think they'd check me out? not even knock on my door?

I guess you guys are right tho, there really is no proof of what i'm going to be growing.

no they dont have anything to get a warrant on so you have nothing to worry about, and if they do and dont have a warrant tell them to stop harassing you

Well, i'm out of cash atm again.

My setup is tho:


400W MH for my vegs
600W HPS w/ cooltube for my flowering

+ a huge grow tent from htg and all the other stuff that I need for a hydro setup.

I still need some co2 and some clip on fans for the heat.

Paranoia is your best friend. If he knows your phone number, name and city and law enforcement takes him seriously (assuming he notifies them) then law enforcement will not have a problem locating you.

If I was you I would change my phone number and all my internet chat room names, probably email as well. Anything that he knows about. First I would try to delete as much stuff as possible off the internet including your YouTube channel and videos etc. I would completely ignore the guy and by changing all your info including phone and email this would make it possible. Next I would probably hold off on planting anything for a little bit, a few months or so. Maybe send an email to each forum asking them to delete your account completely, YouTube offers that service. This guy is a liability and you need to reduce your risk as much as possible.

Next I would buy a new hard drive for my computer and burn the old one. Yes I would burn it. Formatting a hard drive does not remove all the information and I don't care what people say. Burning a hard drive destroys all the information. A replacement is less than $100 and you get to learn something new; it's actually kind of cool learning how to reload your operating system and programs. Much like spring cleaning. Kill two birds with one stone.

Then I would change my internet service provider to a new company. If you only have one provider then I would call them and cancel it and a week later call them back up and have them reinstall it.

Last I would view it as a lesson well learned. Keep your damn mouth shut. Let me say that again, keep your damn mouth shut. Loose lips sink ships.

Remember you have all those supplies because you love Mexican food and want to grow your own Jalapeno peppers.

I mean, all that over someone that just knows my phone number? Cant anyone just call anyone and say this person is growing this: here is his phone # ? Don't they need some kind of proof?

the feds are looking for commercial grows mostley...but be careful who you talk to even on the internet...most people get snitched on mostley by "friends" thats the #1 way people get caught! changing your number is not gonna do anything posititive except the fact that he cant contact you anymore...but you can get arrested for hypothetical conspiracy to commit a crime, but 2 or more people have to witness it otherwise it meer hearsay :)

Hearsay...He said, she said BS...Dosen't hold up in court...I know it may be hard to do because you want everyone to know how "cool" you are for growing gonja, believe me, when "someone" I know started growing it was so hard for "then" not to tell anyone about it...DO NOT TELL ANYONE EVER EVER EVER...a secret between 3 men is only a secret if 2 of the 3 men are dead!!!!

I already read a warrent before of someone else getting caught.

It stated reasons like this basically:

Blinds down
huge smell of marijuana in front of the house


and some other reasons...


I mean if anything, if the cops even come to my door (impossible for them to get a warrent from just someones words). Its just a warning sign for me basically. Then i'd just plant some tomato and lettuce plants in my grow room and get my other plants out. When the cops see it with the warrent, he will probably be the one getting in trouble for giving them false information.

I wouldn't worry about it, but I wouldn't pretend that nothing could come of it. You never know right? Hell, the SPCA came through my house looking for my cats during the fire evacuation and they obviously stumbled upon my grow. Now I'm not about to tear down and hide everything elsewhere but I have it in the back of my head that maybe they told someone, maybe they didn't. Either way though I'll be ready when/if someone comes knocking at my door.

Yeah, I was just worried before that they would just show up at my door, with a warrent and just take everything and arrest me. But now that I think about it, anyone can do this and it is just words.

Cops don't need proof, they have a gun, badge, low I.Q and a chip on their shoulder. Their view is "tell it to the judge." Guilty or not they don't give a fuck, it's more overtime for them.

Will cops knock on your door, possible yes, probable no. But keep in mind you are in the path of liability and you put yourself there.

You have now received answers that span the entire spectrum from "fuck it dude, just grow" to my paranoid view.

What you get out of something is what you put into it.

"Fuck it dude, just grow" gives you fuck it dude results.
