Just wondering how people using CFLs only have there light setup and using how many watts to plant ratio....

Pics will be great to get an idea but description is good enough as well...
I was going to use about 200~250 watts of cfls but ended up now with around 650 watts.....Will go HPS route sooner or later but just wanted to see the veteran CFL growers setup..

Total Watts: 630~650 Watts.
Total Lights: 24 23/26 watt CFLS 1 40 watts
Total Plants: 7 Plants
Grow Space: 2x2x4.

weell its been proven that great weed plants could be grown withcfl. i have a closet size box that i got from a friend who grows that is 7 feet tall 2 feet deep and 4 wide and i got 5 plants flowering in there with 16 cfls . and one fan blowing air out at a decent speed .i have [3] 42 watts 2700k , [10]26 watts 2700k and 3[3] 30 watts cool white 6500k . when lights on temp reach 85 and at lights of they drop to 70ish.i have the 42 watts on top of my biggest plant and the rest of the bulbs are all over . this set up seems to work fine for me. i know that cfl are for small amount of plants and in small reflective so round space like a box or small closet where light cant scape ... here are sum pix . i think the secret with cfls is a good maintenance of ur plants including air and soil conditions . goood luck and feel free to ask . hope i was helpful.

I started with 2x 4ft shop lights (flouros) and 10 plants. i ended up with over 900watts of CFL's and flouro tubes flowering 6 females. Harvested nearly half a pound with about 160 watts per plant, mixed spectrum. There's almost 200 pictures in my gallery and lots of good info. CFL's work alot better than most people would have you believe. I have a HPS now and honestly im a bit dissapointed that the results were not THAT much better.

Great germination chamber. Very clean (no wires hanging all over the place). I bet that gets good drainage too. Where do you bathe now?

Here is my CFL SCRoG grow. I don't remember how many watts exactly because I threw out all the boxes but I remember initially calculating something like ~300 watts. I have 7x2700k CFL's mixed with 3x6500k CFL's for a total of 10 CFL's.

I did not veg under the "screen", only flowered and wove during the two week stretch. I think I'm going to yield at least an oz. maybe 1.5 oz.

The first picture is from flowering week 6 and the second picture is just a cool picture of the lights :) Enjoy.

Thanks. To be honest I think I just set my little crappy point and shoot to "night time" mode. I'll try to re-create it but it was really by chance!

The plants were clones. After roots showed up I vegged them for a few weeks. Topped 2 of them and I did the 4 cola method by uncle ben on the third. Could have filled the screen in more, will do it next time around :joint:

Very nice! Those two fans at the top are sucking hot air out? Is any air blowing in the bottom or is that a passive intake? Nice clean setup :) What strain is that indica you're growing?

Thanks man. Yeah the two fans at the top are both exhaust (I think 35 cfm each). I actually just put another intake on the opposite side from the one shown in the pics. I did my temp test before doing some light proofing/sealing and was getting 33C right at the lights and just checked to find that it has risen to 40C (I have the thermo right in with the lights, so its actually cooler down where the plant's canopy is). I think the one 2" passive intake was too small, so i'll see how this works.

Strain is "Sugar Blossom", a mix of WW and something that smells lemony, I really like the results from my first grow...seed bank descrip:

Sugar Blossom F2

These are second generation seeds made from F1 original brother's Grimm stock. Sugar blossoms is an improvement on white widow. The brother's Grimm's legendary skill is put on display in this masterpiece. Here is what the catalogue says about Sugar Blossoms: Smokers of White Widow almost universally comment that they wish it tasted better. The Bros Grimm set out to solve this problem by creating Sugar Blossoms, a skunky, lemon-flavoured White Widow hybrid. Expect hardy, vigorous plants with an Indica-dominant growth profile. Short & branchy, Sugar Blossoms is a high yielding, fast flowering, resinous plant that produces dense, sugar-coated buds that has a great taste and a light lemon smell. This plant, like most Brothers Grimm offerings, is easy to work with, trims up very easily, and has a beautifully balanced high.

Indoor flowering 8 to 9 weeks.
