Yeah, I shouldn't waste the money until I can hit 1 gram/watt without it...

Is that even possible in one cycle with 9 plants in flower like I am going to run?

it all depends on your canopy...

lots of little plans or fewer bigger plants works...

but the fewer the plants, the bigger thy gotta be...

but sure it's possible...

Wouldn't I have to get them pretty big prior to flower?

To get 1000 grams from 9 plants they would have to average just over 110 grams per plants. That's just over 4 z's per plant.

This is my goal, if its possible....How could I do it, you think?

There are lots of people doing that, but you are asking the wrong guy...

I get 20 grams per plant...

You need to talk to some of the growers that get 4oz per plant and see what they do...

But sure I think you can do it...

Well I will poke around and see what I find...

Most people, in my experience, veg to about 12" or more to get that kind of yield. Which would be fine I think I could manage that and still make it work.

awsome grow by the way. what do you do with the heat from the air conditioner? i have a 600w in a 3x3 and my temps are in the 90's even with it air cooled and vented through the ceiling with a 4" inline. Im plannin on getting a 6"inline going from 170 cfm to 440 cfm. oh ya and did you have to put in another breaker? my 5000 btu i got last night trips the circuit.
Lol dude just throw some c02 in there and you will be great.. 90 degrees is perfect for a c02 controlled enviro..

Bigjesse, nice grow dude! keep up the great work. Im subscribed for this one, as i am using foxfarm soil and nutes just like you. What do you use to test water and soil PH? Plus rep to you and 5 stars. Dont be afraid to show me some love too haha..

Thanks! I use a ph kit from General Hydroponics.

Do you have a hydro store nearby? If not, what about a pool/spa store?

You can get them there. I prefer the type that comes with a little vial and some solution. You fill the vial halfway with your feed and drop a few drops of the 'tester' solution in and the water turns colors, corresponding to a ph level on a chart that comes on the bottle.

Hope this helps.

Wow... lots of reading to catch up.

Jess... fans as exhuasts is good. I'm with Gypsy, I don't think you need an intake fan... just somewhere for air to come in.

I think your plan should work. Let me know if you want me to draw anything up of what I would do.

And for 4 oz per plant I would say maybe a little taller than 12"... like 14". I mean my hindu skunks with the problems and all, were switched at 14" and the biggest got little under 3 oz. under 650w, and only 400 for the first month flowering. So I'm saying that while it's not garunteed, it shouldn't be too hard to get 4oz from your girls under 1000w.

I think there was more covered but I forget.

:peace:

Thanks Jig, I would be more than happy to have you draw up something !

I plan to use this batch as a test run. I am going to veg them to 12-16" and flower them out in soil. If I can get somewhere in the neighborhood of what I am lookin for in soil, I should be able to add to that yield in a hydro system, I would assume.

I am excited to see what you come up with! Do you understand the layout of my space, and how its oriented? Its pretty simple, but let me know...

Ok so here are the most recent pics.

The BB plant has taken so well to the FIM that it is now 13" wide and 13.5" tall! The other are doing well also.

I have gotten my water schedule down and am happy with where things are at. I am considering transplanting here in the next week sometime. I want to do their final transplant here soon, as I plan to switch to 12/12 sometime in the next 20 to 30 days.

Well, comments and feedback is appreciated and welcome as always!

I think they are lookin mighty fine! :-)

Hey Jesse...

Are you familiar with the "pot in pot" technique to avoid transplant shock?

You cut the bottom of the pot off and half bury it... the roots will escape and colonize the new area with minimal stress...

I have seen pics here of 5 or 6 pots buried in bigger pots...

Just a thought...;-)

Subscribed, keep it up man, transplant at latest 2 weeks before flowering, dont want to stress the ladies right before they are about to create some dankness... ;)
Good to have you man! I am subscribed on your grow too!

Yeah I agree, I plan to transplant prior to flower, just in case it stresses them.

Hey Gypsy, thanks for the idea!

I domt know if my transplanting method causes much stress. Both times I have transplanted these girls they have had roots poking out the bottom of their new container within 7 days.

I am not trying to say you are wrong, I just don't know. Do you think they are stressed if they grow roots that quickly? Maybe I am using faulty logic...?

I like to reuse my pots too...How did they cut off the bottom without messing up the root ball? I know people like to cut their roots but I am not really one of them. I use a tablespoon of Root Zone per gallon of soil. Its expensive, but it contains a score of benefical fungi and other benefical microbes...

I don't really know though. Maybe I just think they aren't stressed. How can you tell?

It was just a thought... don't read too much into it...

I'm not a soil grower... you know waaaay better than I do what goes on with your plants...

it was just information... random... with no hidden message...

LOL quit making fun of me because I always think there is some hidden message :-)

:peace:

I think they are pretty frickin happy though. I have almost want to FIM the rest of them but the guy who I got the clones tell me the hashberry is branchy enough as it is and the skunk plants don't respond well. Supposedly.

Err.....dont cut roots, thats a terrible idea...haha

But the pot in pot seems a cool idea, but sometimes i start in shitty plastic pots, and just make cuts in the top, and break the pot to transplant, which cause almost no stress, in fact, when I did it that way, the plant was already growing again by the next day, and usually i get 2 or 3 days stunted growth...so i though 1 day was great :D
See I NEVER notice any slowing of the growth. I attribute that to the soil quality.

Also, I actually wait for the plants to dry out and transplant them BEFORE I water...

My high school hort teacher taught me this...The theory is that the plants will be thirsty and will be reaching them roots out for food. Once you transplant them and water them, they are hungry to the point that they just eat and ignore the transplant altogether. When the container dries out, and I always let them dry out a little extra the first water after transplanting to force the roots to grow down further into the soil, searching for water and nutrients, they never shower any signs of stress or stunted growth!

That's pretty much what I am seeing with this tree grow...

I have transplanted the trees from 1/2 gallon pots to 19 gallon pots...

And the roots just spread like wildfire through the hydroton... I got a top/drip feed to encourage the roots to spread... in addition to several floods a day..:hump:

no signs of stress or slowing down.. much on the contrary...:clap:

You tell'em Jesse.. I'm so high.. and so tired.. and so high...

But I am happy cause I got a LOT done today...

Just posted some new pics...:hump:

Heading over there now GB!

Yeah I am the same way. I have been pouring my h20/nutrint soultion from a beaker through a turkey baster to reduce the stress of pouring water through the plants and they seem to like it!

A little TLC = copious amounts THC :-)
