Newbie: Using Aeroponics - Help!

Hi guys - so like everyone else, i want to grow. I received a two pot aeroponic system (starting small). I've read a lot, so I more or less understand about the different cycles, lighting, etc.

What I don't understand is how an aeroponic system works (was given to me). I understand the drip method and all of that, but if someone could explain exactly how aeroponics works, that would be great.

Also, I plan on getting Flora Nova based on everyone's recommendations. How much do I put in to the reservoir at the plants different stages? Also, I've heard about "flushing", is that necessary with aeroponics? If so, does flushing mean replacing the old water/nutrients with new?

Aero works by spraying the roots with the nutrient solution. The advantage of aero is ... the roots get maximum oxygen without being bound up in any medium at all ... including water like in a DWC setup. This means faster veg growth and more healthy plants. The disadvantage of aero is what happens if you have a pump or timer failure. The roots dry out fast and the plants die. So, you'll have to keep a constant watch ... or take your chances. Don't worry ... I started growing with my aero unit several years ago and will never go back to DWC or soil. I still grow my Moms in DWC ... cuttings and clones too.

For the nutrient mix, just follow the directions on the nutrient bottles.

You might want to start off in dirt until you get a stronger grasp of basic growing.

if this is your first time i would fo soil and while those plants are grow keep reading up on aero so when the time comes you will be ready and have everything you will be needing......

What do you mean by medium? Wouldn't the medium be the rocks that I will place it in?

How do the plants get water? Just from being suspended in the water?
