ummm what!? why did you waste my time?! who the hell are you!? what is your end game?? shady people make for shady situations and events.

stay away from journals.. i shun you!!

Dear Shakleford and thread viewers,

My friend (who isn't able to post cause he doesn't have internet$$) got extremely paranoid and asked me to post that. He really seemed like he wasn't down for posting at all at the time so I just posted what he wanted me to post.
I just told him to chill cause he isn't the one posting and he agreed to continue sending me pics to update you guys with.

So yeah, im posting my friends grow journal for him.

Every week or so I visit him to check out progress myself so I can fill you in pretty good with the progress, too.

Sorry about that peeps.

Hope you all continue to stay tuned in! more pics on the way! too many actually lol

Hey, I have to ask.....

How do you post pictures withing the post as opposed to attatched?? I wanna be able to caption pics in the post, you know????

Help me out if you will.

Thanks!

Well, I figured out how to post pics withing the post. Which is bad ass.

So I forgot to mention that the plants are now in an enclosed light tight and for the most part air tight cabinet that is 42"L x 20"W x 62"H (layered some silicone sealant in between wood that was drilled together and let dry. Virtually no leaks at all. This was done on everything that connected to something, sealed as fuck) with a 6 inch Active Air installed into the top right of the cab with the speed controller. There is also c02 setup with regulator being fed into the cab as well.) As you can clearly see there is mylar on the walls too.

He is planning on putting mylar everywhere. Is that a good idea? It's also VERY VERY hard to get the mylar to be flush on the board without "creases" or "crunches". Any suggestions for mounting mylar to walls without and wrinkles other than a staple gun and tape??

Do you all think these plants are too old to start the FIM or LST techniques on them??

Had the lights that far cause plants had just been transplanted into "rose pots"

My female is on the top right :weed:

DIAGRAM 1

AND, even more importantly:  Is this a sign of female pre-flower?? I am more than sure it is, but I just want some confirmation here.

^this pic and the one below are off the same plant. If you look at the top view pics on DIAGRAM 1, shes the plant on the top right or back right (H1).

Look right in the middle of the pic. You will see the two white pistils (forming their signature "V" shape, which stand for vagina! lols :hump:) and if you look closely, you'll also see some sprouting on the opposite side of the sprouted ones.

This is the foliage that is boasting out of the "potential" female H1. (i'm a nub, but i'm more than sure she is a she:mrgreen:)

So, what do you all think?

For obvious reasons this grow is sticking to soil. The Waterfarm will not be used. Sorry about that. But its cool to watch and give input, nonetheless!

yeah that a she iin the picture. She looks good keep it up or your freind to keep the good workup.
I thought she was! :weed: I'm glad to hear this from someone who has good rep on here. I'm sure you've been through your share of grow journals and have good credentials for sexing, so...
Welcome to the thread and thanks for your input!

What would be better, to use this:

Sunburst 250W HPS/MH Convertible *Note: Friend already owns this but is more than likely going to get rid of it because the reflector's ballast is installed internally (shouldn't be removed) and produces mass amounts of immediately dissipated heat in the grow space, making it hard to remove the heat from the room efficiently.

http://www.hydrofarm.com/pb_detail.php?itemid=9871

Or this:

250 watt MH HPS Lumatek Grow Light Air Cooled Kit

http://cgi.ebay.com/250-watt-MH-HPS-Lumatek-Grow-Light-Air-Cooled-Kit_W0QQitemZ270425634142QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ef69fb55e&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65:12|66:2|39:1|72:1205|293:1|294:50

*****Any of these set-ups would be accompanied by a 6" inline Vortex fan (w/ speed controller) and 6" insulated ducting.*****

Or would it be better to just make a cool tube (DIY style)? Suggestions???

The view- to -reply ratios here have always sucked IMO, but then again, when are they ever going be over 50% anywhere...

put your 2 cents ya vagina:p

I would go with the lumatek. The reflector is good for air cooling and the digital ballast is suppose to run cooler.
Yeah, and it's a great deal, too:

ONLY $179.98 standard shipping!!

So, wyteberrywidow (thanks for replying again btw, I appreciate it.) you don't think building a cooltube would be a good route to go??

Whats your setup like?

Reason I ask is cause I heard cool tubes were the most efficient means of cooling, even opposed to the "Xtrasun Air-Cooled Reflector", which has the same concept, but I heard that it doesn't cool nearly as efficient as cool tubes....

So many choices :-?

They even have these cheap (scary cheap IMO) things: http://www.htgsupply.com/growlights.asp?categoryID=1&subcategoryID=155&typeID=56
But hey, maybe they're worth it. Anyone have HTG stuff?

Oh, yeah.... remember the grow space is only: 45"L x 22"W x 60"H
Having a slightly smaller light footprint shouldn't be an issue or concern in this small of a space... Or at least I dont think it does, right?? (approximately 5 sq ft of floor surface)

The goal is to get that light as close to the plants as possible without heat stressing them and not close enough to where the growth is so fast it sneaks up on you and gets burned in a short period of time!!

nicely done, good looking grow. I admire the organicness of it.

i picked up a 400w digital mh/hps set for only $140 on ebay, its definitely the place to go.

As, for the online Ebay stores... I have heard about some burning out within the first month or some DOA's (Dead On Arrivals).... If I were to order from one of these companies I want to be sure there is good warranty with these products... But i'm sure thats a given for anyone. I heard that it was just bad equipment or manufacture defects (which happens to every company once in a while), but the number of people that have told me this is kinda scary. But, I am going to exclude HTG Supply (High Tech Garden Supply) as I have heard only good things about them.

The only thing about HTG supply, is that cost wise it pretty much comes out to the same amount as my buds local hydro store. They even have a used section and warranty replacements are done right then and there. BIG +, IMO.

So, what to do.,.....

Oh, and thank you so much, dbo24242 for your input and admiration of the organics. This bud will taste wonderful and be smooth to consume, for sure.

Welcome to the thread and be sure to subscribe.

Peace!

P.S. TO ALL VIEWERS: Are these plants too old to start any type of training (HST/LST) on them?? Scroll up or maybe back a page for pics. Yeah.... Back on PAGE 3

I use htg stuff i have a 400 watt hps and euro reflector.I have two fans for exhaust(one 6 inch for my light exhaust and a 4 inch for my room exhaust) and one for intake along wqith a oscillating fan for circulation.I flower in a homebox using the 400 and i flower 4 plants at a time.

Yeah, I know those HTG systems are great systems.....

Wow, 400 watts.... That is nice. I'm sure my buddy will upgrade his cab sometime depending on how this goes... i mean, grows... wait. Yeah. I wanna see some of your 400 watt harvests....

What kind of nutes do you use?

Soil or hydro....

its never too late to start training. get some training wire from the garden store and start tying them, just arrange branches or group branches or tie branches out of the way, I try to get some good interior light penetration going on using training wire and went from this

to this

in a few days of training.

(tops grew a couple inches in between those pics, but look about the same heigh =D).

Wow. Very nice is all I have to say about those.

I guess I can start training... LOL!!

I was wondering if I should top them with the FIM technique, LST in a circle (or square in my case) around the pot or both???

BTW, How many plants is that? And what wattage of bulb is in that cool tube of yours...is it 6 "? how many cfm's for your fan??

Also looks like you have some tube fluorescents in the bottom pic as well.... Don't see the cool tube w/HPS in that pic.... oh nevermind I see it. Did you implement those fluorescents later in the grow or what?

How are temps with your cool tube? do you have it venting leading out the house?

See, my buddy does not have an attic or any means of extracting the hot air, just another room of the house it goes to. Which has worked well so far.

most of it is 3 plants in a 10gallon dwc setup
1000w hortilux w/ 6" cooltube and a 240cfm rated booster fan, so nowhere near that.
Also looks like you have some tube fluorescents in the bottom pic as well.... Don't see the cool tube w/HPS in that pic.... oh nevermind I see it. Did you implement those fluorescents later in the grow or what?
yeah I hadn't installed the hooks to hang my uv-b lights

temps are fine I don't get any heat stress except for one time duct tape came undone and air wasn't moving. plants have almost completely recovered from that. it vents into the attic which has an open duct leading outside.

I was wondering if I should top them with the FIM technique, LST in a circle (or square in my case) around the pot or both???
topping works but have you heard of supercropping? It is a good way to create more colas and still keep the primary cola. should be done sometime during veg to the week after flowering starts, its a good way of training.

Sad day for my buddy then. Beautiful setup you have there. 1000 watts, damn. We aren't even going to come close to this anytime soon...

Must've been scary to find them like that! bet you were rushing to get that shit sealed quick!
Yeah, prob over here is ventilation.

I'll be sure to research "supercropping"... If you get bored can you post some good links to good articles or threads on "supercropping"?

Thanks
Peace

Damn! That seems a bit harsh to the plant... But hey, i'm sure they CAN go through a lot worse treatment and naturally DO outdoors!

That guy has a medical MJ license in Amsterdam?? What's the point? Maybe he gets better stuff at a better price or something? But hes growing his shit... hmm

Awesome video though! I'm about to check the next link out. Thank you!
