Yah, I'm not worried, but curious. I figure a genetic mutation is showing itself. Something done down the line so to speak. I'm going to take a cutting and seed her and see if it continues.

hey CJ .... that'll be interesting. As a biologist, genetics have always been a strong interest. When breeding horses for years in a previous life, the crossing of the mares and stallions and their individual prepotency I always found fascinating. Once I have the suitable circumstances, I too want to get into breeding ..... I look forward to seeing what you discover.....walking on!~
i planted 2 rows of 4 plants. this one was in the first row, second plant in. it is the only one doing it and it has stopped now. there was an old wood pile where i am growing and when i was tilling the area where this plant is had a lot of composted wood in it. i assume it was something in the wood.

hey there fdd .... interesting colouration and pattern distribution. wood decomposition can be quite acidic> if it were conifers? that might affect the ability of the plant to uptake some other nutrients? interesting. has it gotten progressively worse? and are you trying to ameliorte the soil in ant way?
it stopped a few weeks ago and looks fine now. the leaves that were affected still look like that, but new growth is normal.
my garden seems tiny compared to last year, hence my lack of pics. i'm kinda bummed and a little worried.

I wouldn't worry fdd, your still blowing many other grows outta the water, including mine...and plus, didnt you say you just wanted to grow in peace and not worry about how perfect everything was...anyways, they will still get huge like last year...I think your doing greatit stopped a few weeks ago and looks fine now. the leaves that were affected still look like that, but new growth is normal.

yea man ... yea ... we always want it to be relative to something .... some other success of the past ..... I totally get that .... but reality is ..... no two instances in time are the same, let alone from one year to the next ..... you got fabulous growth and all's healthy ..... and yea .... they're still trees to the rest of us! LOL!

looks like last year they were bigger earlier as if you put them outdoors earlier, but still man, this years plants are still huge and bushy...and it looks like this year you got a lot more extra plants in pots as well, I bet in the end you'll end up with about the same amount of bud....

This season was hard on my garden. Between 4 weeks of rain and last weeks hail storm. Jeesh, Mother Nature can be a real bitch.

yea ... totally understand. like the guy trying to get his hay crop off .... and the weather rain and whatever else is playing games with him. Working with nature has awesome results, but only the best is achieved when all those unpredictable factors align towards your purpose. And then, as some people still say, outdoor grown still is superior to indoor grown. Walk On!~

Hey fdd, I am sure you have encountered many a broken branch from growing outside. Well last night we got 4 inches of rain here and I went out to my garden to find one of my main branches laying on the ground but still connected to the trunk. I lashed the branch back to the trunk using some under developed lower branches and seems to be holding in place well. Do you think there is a chance for the plant to repair itself or too close to flower to risk the energy needed to repair itself. Leave the branch for a week or two and see what happens or get rid of it now? I'll post pics in my journal
