question about xanax.....

Hey guys,NEED HELP!!!I work at a wal mart and got piss tested yesterday,I took a xanax the day before,it was a old one,anyways am i in the clear?it was about 20 hours in between,I have drank plenty of fluids and worked some before they took me.....Should I quit?Has anyone on here been fired for failing a piss test?WHAT DO I DO!!!

Do they check for that? I've never even taken a piss test, and don't know how they work - does it look for specific drugs, or is just positive/negative - anything at all in your system and you fail? Seems strange that they'd care about xanax - I'd think that a lot of people working for a lot of companies that drug test do take xanax legitimately.

Xanax is a benzo pretty much the same thing as Valium. Those stay in your system 2-3 days after ingestion. So your going to pop on the test.

The whole water thing probably wouldn't have worked not on such a short notice you would need some time to flush you system.

The only thing that you could do is come up with a reason why you were taking them, i.e. you have depression, anxiety ect. but they might ask why you didn't disclose that before you took the test. And if you do say that then their going to ask to see a script for you doc.


My advice just start looking for another job, hate to say it but like I said before your fucked.

They don't test for prescription drugs, just coke and weed and opiates (real, not synthetic). They never tested me for Xanax when I was on probation either. Every time I got tested, I went in barred off my ass, lol, fuckin assholes.

ROFL, i am on valium too. just passed a pre-employment dt for homerDpoe. Valium, Xanax, Soma, and Vicodin in my system. They can tell what the substances are. although I have prescriptions for all, they never asked for any.

Trust me, you are fine. And 1 Xanax can last up to a month in detectable levels, it all depends on your particular metabolism.
