New room , About to start my first grow , looking for opinions !

Hey !

So i have been reading the site for a few weeks and taking it all in while collecting my gear to start up and get going. I think i have everything i need its now more of a lack of knowledge than anything else. Ill attach some pictures of my stuff.

Im about to buy some clones can anyone recoment a good strain for my set up ?
Also with my air stone do i simply dunk them in the res of the aeroponic once i start up my first nute solution for my clones ?


Not shown in the pics but i have Nextgen 400 hps/mh ballast and a 6 " vortex fan on top of the DR exhausting the light , The other aluminum hose you see coming in is hooked up to my central A/C i turnit on if it gets to hot, works fast.

Your on the right track.. I noticed you are using GH nutes. Give a search for the lucas formula it works wonders.

Yes your airstones just set in the bottom of your tote.

well some people grow according 2 moon phases


"Crescent moon phase is when the best germination occurs and is a good time for thinning out seedlings to give room for the rapid growth that occurs at the next phase. Gibbous moon phase is when there is a greater uptake of nutrients from the soil, and swelling of fruits. Disseminating moon is an excellent time for seed setting and ripening. Balsamic phase is the best time for destroying weeds, pruning trees, and all preparation for the next cycle."

You might have to hand water your clones until the roots grow down into the res

Im just waiting on some clones to be delivered. I think im going 2x Skunk xxx and 2x Ak-47. Clones are rooted in 3" rockwool cubes i think he said. So i started washing out my hydroton and im about to read up on Lucas formula for GH nutes.

I need to read up on PPM info as well i havent quite got a grasp on that yet , If i have to spray the clones while waiting for them to root thru the hydroton.
, Do i just use a 1 gallon bottle of the same solution as i would have in my resevior with a sprayer and mist them ?

you really think someone should grow clones indoors according to moon phases?

i never even heard moon phases had anything to do with germination and plant growth. this sounds like some superstitious hippy karma stuff

yea although the cuttings are not exposed directly it still effected by the gravitational pull. for example indoor pools are still effected by the tide

the moon has everything thing to do with growing, for the gravity determines how roots grow and what direction to grow in

4 gravity tells roots what direction to grow.. and moon does effect gravity through tide

i have never considered this. my plants always grow roots downwards anyways, i would have looked into it myself but your link was a dud.

just beacause you have never considered desent mean it doesnt exist...

I got a question for anyone , My plant has roots on the side and bottom, not loads but some breaking thru the rockwool and going into the hydroton. They are about 4 to 5 inches tall. They have been in my 3 part GH 50 % solution for a little over 3 days. The owner of the clones also said they were being sprayed with nute water.

right now they are in a 50 percent 400 ppm solution , they are 4 or 5 inches tall. Is this to weak ? should i use the full 100 percent veg solution ? or am i doing it right by keeping it at 50 percent ? I dont know when to go full strength on the nutes.
