advice on my setup please

OK so im closing in on buying my supplies for my first grow and was wondering if there was anything else that i might need or change so here it is:

Grow Box: GLowLab60 (http://www.bghydro.com/BGH/Itemdesc.asp?ic=GRGL060&eq=&Tp=)

Medium: Stealth Hydro Bubbleponics (http://www.stealthhydroponics.com/product.php?xProd=16)

im gonna add the pro drainage kit, ph control kit, and 6 month SH nutrient pack as well

Lights: 6-8 8 30w cfl's at 6400k for veg and 2700k for flower (http://www.1000bulbs.com/30-Watt-Compact-Fluorescents/4013/)

Ventilation: ??? I dont know what i should do for ventilation, i dont think the tent will get too hot using cfl's and i will have a small fan in the tent to circulate the air and help to strengthen the plants but do i need an exhaust at all?

odor control: need help with this as well.

any input will help thanks a lot guys

Nice man. Forgot about those bubbleponic systems.....gonna have to try one soon. Like the tent to. How many plants are you trying to grow? Oh, and you definitely need an exhaust.

well the bubbleponics system has room for 6 plants, ill hope to get 2-4 females out of the deal at one time

any recommendations on how to ventilate it, i know almost nothing about ventilation

Does that say 8 30w? That's 240w of heat. I have 10 23w of those in a cab about the same size and it was a struggle to bring the temps down.

What's the ambient temp of the room it's going in?

I would go overkill on the ventilation, maybe a 70CFM pulling off an odor sock

its going in my bedroom but i like to keep my room on the cooler side so maybe around 66-72 degrees.

and yes i wuld rather go too much on ventilation than not enought...but wat is a 70cfm pulling off an odor sock mean lol

Back from dinner, Sorry 70CFM is 70 cubic feet per minute.

Panasonic makes a nice quiet 80CFM exhaust fan like you would put in a bathroom.

Then have it pull the air from the inside through a carbon scrubber - blowing clean air out of the cab. odor sock is just a brand name.

Then you'll only need a couple passive intakes (air) near the bottom.

Plants like it cool so having the room cool at night also helps.

I try to keep my temps around 75 during the day and cooler at night

I'll chime in.

passive intake just means the vent flaps that come installed in the tent. a fan is active, no fan is passive.

if you're getting 240w of CFL, just buy a 250w HID, it will outperform the cfls, be much easier to manage, and hardly generate more heat.

ok got it...price is an issue and buying 12-14 cfls is only about 40 bucks as opposed to a ballast, reflector, n mh/hps lights but its always a possibility maybe ill come into some cash soon :)

well, sir, if cash is an issue why are you buying a growlab tent?

they are nice but ridiculously over priced.

12-14 cfls is 40 bucks for lamps, then there is 12-14 sockets or 6-67sockets with 6-7 splitters or 3 sockets with like 12 splitters... see where this is going... after you buy splitters ($3 ea.) and sockets ($3-4[?]) you really aren't saving that much money and you're also buying a less effective system. and weren't you going to buy 8?

odor control: need help with this as well.

Head to Lowes and find the odor control gel it eliminates odors in the air when you pop the top off and costs less than $5. Ona is the equivalent product they sell at hydro stores for $8 and it works awesome too (I have it).

yes i ve thought about the sockets and everything and it still wont add up to almost 200 bucks unless you know of somewhere i can get a mh and hps bulb with reflector and ballast for around 150 or less cause that wuld be great

and i dont have a closet in my room so i feel that the tent is a necessary purchase

and thanks for the odor control help

Lowes has a compact socket mount that is only $1.80..

Im glad we have Ace Hardware stores where im at... splitters are $1.20 and the socket-to-bulb adapter things are only $.68.. so im using a power strip with adapters and splitters instead of wiring up a bunch of sockets...

I got your vent. answer. S and P TD150. The low setting should work fine but in case needed a hi setting. Now go on ebay and buy the foothill carbon filter. Saved money, space, smell and noise all in one....

dude if money is an issue dont buy a stealth hydro build your own bubbleponics system or even better aeroponics system, the entire thing for 99 dollars is a rip off you could build it for about half:
pump - 12 bucks
tub - 10 bucks
tubing - 5-10 bucks
sprayers - 20 bucks
6 net post are like 3 dollars total
thats right at about 50 bucks.

well. I spent stupid money on weak cheap vents that don't work. The watts were even comparable (money long run) to the cheaper weak drawing vents. Save some bucks and do it right with at least a 400 watter and air cool system. The cheap cfl way will take a ton of time, effort and in the end you will want good end product and spend the money...That is if your a kid with no money. Then again go the cfl route and someday upgrade.
