7-8 weeks flowering

These plants are somewhere in between 7 and 8 weeks flowering and I have a few questions. (My first grow)

They do not give off a strong odor, is this due to strain? Or will it get worse as the bud stops gaining size and starts ripening?

I will be away from the 20th to the 25th, I plan to give them a thorough watering and hope for the best.(Not high % of perlite in the soil, luckily). Do you guys think this will be a window of harvesting I miss, or can I let my mind at ease? Or more simply, how much longer do I keep my plants in the oven?

My larger plant's main cola is much smaller than the other plant which is... half its size. Is this because of genetics, or can I hope for more growth this far in?

This is my first grow:
mix 42w 2700k 26w 6500k CFL.
MG potting soil
'Roots' organic fert 3-4-2 (Really old, from the 80s/90s prob)
Bagseed- (one has a skunkyer smell, white hairs. Other smells like mint and has purple/white/pink hairs, I wonder what it will taste like. Both seem to be savita)

Haha, thanks! I hope soon. They may take anywhere from another 2-4 weeks. How long have yours been flowering?

Just put them into flowering a couple days ago. I know they are female! I dont have any pic yet of the ladies but ill post some up in a bit.

The blotches? Like where it looks like it has been stained by bleach? Honestly, I'm not sure, But I believe its because of foliar feeding. Whenever I start to see it happen I just mist my leafs to try and get some of the salt off. It really doesn't effect my growth enough to be an issue, the rest of the plant is healthy.

Good luck! I hope they grow some nice buds, it's really satisfying watching them swell up. I'll keep an eye out for when you have some pics up.

if you know the strain, you can find out at the seedbank they came from the average amount of time until the hairs are about 80% amber, which most think is the optimal time for harvest. maybe you can get one of those glass bulbs that stick down in the soil and provide water when needed, while you're away. good luck, they look real nice!

5 days may be a bit much, i had a grow go to shit in 4 days, they were young still. i shoulda waited till i got back to start. if they are in big pots you have a better chance. and if you keep temps down. you may be ok. i would maybe consider chopping before leaving, kind of a tough call, i would play it by ear.

Well I use 3 gal pots with what I think is a 10-15% perlite mix with temps in the 70s. AT this stage in their life I never water any closer than 3 days apart, sometimes more, but I play it by how the plant/soil looks and feels. I may end up being away 6 days. I think I left it alone 5 days once and the larger plant started to droop. The smaller one looked perfectly fine. I was considering chopping too. I may have to see as it gets closer, I don't want to miss my window of opportunity for harvest.

I do not know the strain, It was just some mids my friend had with a bunch of seeds which now appears to be due to a pollinated harvest of a higher quality weed. The hairs do look... pinkish, it could be some sort of genetics in which I haven't seen around, or maybe environment. I'm not really sure. I like the glass bulb idea, I'll have to see how much they cost. Thanks!

you may have a pink indica like i grow, i really like em. they will get pink on you especially with low temps, night temps more than day. i try to encourage it in mine, i drop the temps about as low as i can. check the avatar, that was from my first plant, it was sweet smoke. the journal is in the link below if your interested.

im growing 11 seeds from that plant now, about 5 weeks or so into flowering. had some serious ph issues early on and screwed it up a bit but i have things back on track.

It looks just like the plant in your av. But I was under the impression that it was savita, I'm almost positive the other plant is, but if its indican, that would be fantastic! One of each.

You realy should try to purchess an eletric magnifying glass thats how ur supose to do it by looking at the trich's that can make ya or brake ya if u dont get it right check the pic you'll see why.

and its a pure breed comes from a seed bank that i have been cloneing for about 2 years.i veg them about 3 weeks then take clones and budd them while my clones start ther new like in the clone machine and so on

Any local places I can get an electric magnifying glass?
It would be fantastic if they were done and drying over my vacation. I guess I'll start flushing a week before I leave. But I couldn't bring myself to get ready for harvest without a single amber hair. For some reason I feel like it may take longer. But maybe your right, I'll have to get one of those magnifying glasses.

I'm not sure what strain, its bag seed. Ery seems to know a lot about it though. It smells like... Christmas tree/mint leafs. Haha, I'm not really a smoker, so i'm not sure on what smells to pick up on.

well they say u can find on at radio shack i never have any luck there i got mine on ebay but u can try ur local electronic stores u need one that will go 100X or a simple microscope works if u can find on i have one of those too.But as u can see u realy will only know if u get one becuse ur set up differs from others so u realy cant go one what others tell u some take longer than others i use 2 400 watt switchable balest lights and i grow hydroponicly so my setup is way diffrent like i said its hard to say becuse it depends on the setup you are the only on that will really know so defenatly get one its the only fool proof way to find out
