EZ-Cloner owner needed

As many here have done, my friend has built his own aero-cloner, based off of the EZ-Cloner. After several unsuccessful attempts, we have come to the conclusion, that the sprayers are too high, and are spraying directly on the stems. This is causing them to stay too wet, so my question is this. If one of you owns a "real" EZ-Cloner. What is the distance from the sprayer manifold and the lid where the neoprene pucks go in. Just pull out a puck, and measure from the lid to the manifold with a tape measure. Thank you in advance!

i made my own aeroponic cloner and had roots in 8 days exact. i would say the manifold should be around 4 inches under the neoprene collars. It shouldnt really matter though as long as its horizontal or lower than the pots. When you run your pump you should have a fine mist spraying in every cubic inch of the reservoir. Just be patient and if your clones dont die then just keep waiting. Also, getting some cloning solution might help not cloning gel or powder but the nutrient solution

Thanx Cyborg I really appreciate your answer! But I am looking to be a little more technical than that. He has some strains, that will root in 7 days, and others that take three weeks. But none of the Haze (soft-stem) will root. And when they do root all of the strains root up high by the neoprene, never by the bottom. Since it is drier inside the neoprene, this would mean that the stems are getting too wet! We have lowered the manifold to just above water level (8 gallons in a 17 gallon reservoir). We will give this a try. It would be nice if someone gave us that measurement! So we would know where they are supposed to be! You are getting roots in 8, wouldn't you like to get them in 5? Keep Tweakin'!!

my timer is set for 15 seconds ON, and 30 minutes off.

I would like 1 day if possible but it dont work that way. once the spray comes on, the whole stem will basically be in water. Try vegging the haze longer to get some thick stems, that mite be your problem because i tried cloning some soft stems and when i checked on it the stem had collapsed LOL. some crazy shit but yea bro just keep it up and dont think everything is too technical. Weed seeds fall off of the plant, land in dirt and just start growing so there isnt TOO much math. Also, the root development will take place on maybe the bottom 2 nches of the stem to stick the stem in deeper. Good growin

If the sprayers are too high you are right they spray directly on the roots, but the ez-cloner sprayers, do not shoot vertical 6 inches! It is the mist created by the spray that makes them damp, not wet!

thanks for the advice but this strain is soft, this mommy is 6 months old, she has been flowered and revegged.

Thanks Yak! That is the magic number I am looking for!! At 6 inches there can not be alot of actual spray hitting the stems! more like the mist that is created by the spray. Am I correct in this train of thought?

well..... when I remove a neoprene collar when the sprayer is on... water shoots out of the top... not straight up though.

Though they dont spray vertical, they spray outwards about about 40 degree angle or so... so the sprayer directly beneath the collar wont hit that particular collar at all, the sprayer that is 6 inches or so to the LEFT or RIGHT, or above or below (you catch my drift) will be pelting it.

The EZ cloner I think when the sprayers are on kind of gets every inch of area inside wet.

if you're using the same type of spray nozzle/head, then just put it between 4 and six inches. If you do six inches, then depending on your res, you will be able to put less water in. @4 inches, you'll have two more inches of water that you can put in there.

How many sites are in your cloner, and how many gallons is your res?

I also highly recommend a timer. I do 15 seconds ON, and 20 minutes off. but I do have an airstone in it though, an air pump came with my EZ cloner.

Good luck, I hate clone problems... so frustrating.

He made a 16 site, with 11 sprayers, 4x180s along each side on the outside, and 3x360s in the middle. A 396gph pump. 8 gallons in a 18 gallon reservoir.
I made a timer for him used a canna kit timer, added a 15 amp relay, and it is set at 45 seconds on 20 minutes off. It was set at 1 min on 4 min off. But in attempt to slow down the stem rot, I cranked the timer up, it almost immediately made a difference in one of his strains, two days later it rooted.

I keep my cloner res at 80F ... and with my timer perameters... I get roots nicely. I love my ezcloner, and I can see that it is easy to replicate the system.. I just always worry about water leaking on my nice hardwood floors.

Woah really Yak?! We were told that was too warm! We had to make a chiller and keep it at 70f. Whatever works for you! We will experiment then with different temps! Thanx for your help!
