I grew up wearing a cage and still do. I avoided glass shields since they first came out in the seventies. One time, I took off my mask for awhile and played without a mask at all. It was okay for awhile, but I can play better with a cage because I can dig in and not worry about my chin. I decided to go back to a mask for no reason, and that night I had a face to face collision with another guy. I easily would have been bleeding if I wasn't wearing that cage. Since then, I wear the cage 100% of the time.So...I was at my friday night drop in...All is going well(I love playing stoned) and i'm having a blast, schooling all the youngins and what not. Half hour in...dude winds up for a slap shot...gets it off...it deflects off someones stick...and pops me right in my mouth(i wear a half shield).
As soon as it happened...i dropped my shit and said "i have to go"....lol
Completely punched my 4 front bottom teeth back...lol..i was scared to look in the mirror.
Anyway...i went the ER, waited a couple hours, and they tell me i have to wait till monday to see an oral surgeon.
They gave me some vicodin and augmentin...
I hate pills...after what i've been through..taking fist fulls of pills...i just hate it. But the pain was a bit rough and i gave in and popped a few 500 vicodin.
I think monday after my dr. apointment i'll go get a full cage again.
Thanks bro...I just hope they don't have to pullem...Yeah bud, it looks like shit- but youll get better... I was hit in the mouth with a puck playing street hockey once as a child... Surprising how strong teeth are.

I'm told the best thing about dentures is that you no longer have to brush your teeth... just wake up, rinse your mouth, and pop your dentures out of their little case of cleaner and you're out the door!

My bottom lip is still numb...and it's annoying as hell.

my buddy bit it on his motorcycle. had his jar wired shut. his dad was eating pizza and he wanted some. he rolled up a piece of pepperoni and wiggled it thru his wired teeth. it unrolled once in his mouth. he had to suck on it for 3 hours before he could swollen it without choking.
