What's the recommended distance between the LED's and the plants? It's usually a bit prohibitive which is why I've yet to try them out.

Just wanted to show the 15 babies I have after just 7 days total! I'm only hoping for 6-8 females, so this should do it... Keep in mind that the smaller ones are a couple days younger than the bigger ones, plus they are all totally random, bagweed/dro seeds which I have collected over the years, for free!

Check out the growth in just 3 days:
i plan to flower them in these tiny cups, hopefully creating roots and stumpy, bushy plants. Pruning them 25-50% and start looking for the males on the 3rd day of flowering on.

1st pic is day4, #2 is day 7. :weed:

Wait till they start growing :)
ElephantRider has a grow in cups. Maybe ask him if he's got any tips for you.
I've been considering ways to maximise root growth in small pots and have just tried a hempy. It wasn't for me but could help in those pots. Search for hempy buckets for more info.

tonight i am switching to flowering (alredi) most of the plants are on their 4th and 5th top (i alredi pruned the bottom row) so i need to find out the sexes soon. It should be fine. No 24 hr dark period b/c I need the lights on during the day, so i can continue to prune and bend them.

The last 2 pix are "before and after" pix i duct-taped the hell out of that lid. It was easy tho.

This is day 2 of flowering, i went ahead and sprinkled a pinch of topical tomato blooming nutes on the top layer of soil, it will slowly leech down to the roots and get the MG's balance good enough for any stage the plants are in ;) It's a bigger change than i expected in 36 hours after 12/12, being as how I only started @ 16/8 this time. I like the canopy density so I may be onto what I was/am trying for.

It looks like the late-bloomers are catching up finally, LOL they don't really have a choice.

I'm still trying to sex them in these tiny cups b/c with plants, they can only grow as tall as their roots can grow horizontally... just hope there's enough room in there for them. I may be changing my mind about repotting, but I really don't want to waste time re-potting males, if I can help it. Especially b/c that box is a "sterile" environment.

they look good... green and healthy.
Thanks, so far I have "quarantined" 3 suspected males outside, last time one turned out 2 be female, so it may be too soon to tell. I just don't want to take any chances since I have so many, I can be picky. I am narrowing it down to 6 fems (hopefully).

So do you think a Rubbermaid bin like that would be big enough for 1 mother and a couple of clones?
Oh, and nice set up, lookin great. bongsmilie

Damn, I had gotten far in just over 2 weeks!

What can i say? I fucked up... i was being stupid and i put some bloom fert in with the repots and that burned them up. Then I way, way, over-pruned the rest of the babies, trial and error... (error). So today I start over.
I germinated 6 seeds overnight, 2 already popped! So I will be replanting tonight probably. This time my methods will be less experimental: 10-14 days of 24 hr. veg under led only.
Top all of them on their 4th spread> & a little less binding, no extra fertilizer.
I am already re-using the soil from the last babies and it had some root debris in there, so that should leave enough nitrogen to feed these new babies, I hope, and not promote mold, just have to let them dry out a few times between watering. I also found my other soil to be way too wet, so I will definitely watch that this go 'round.
24 hr dark day.
Then 12/12 with all lights on, no fertilizer still, unless they show signs of necessity. At least 2day is the 1st... that is good luck for me, plus it' easier to keep track of my timeline.

Sorry to hear that Outdo.
You got to be careful with the little ones.
Not sure leaving those roots in is a good idea and if you overnuted & killed the last occupant then it doesn't bode well for the new guy unless you really flushed everything out before reusing it.
Sounds like some perlite or vermiculite is in order to help with drainage too.

LOL, I already changed the plan... !2/12 from sprout. It's just too damn hot here to keep the lights on longer than that, it goes up to 100 very quickly. so 12/12 it is. I may still try to top them, since they veg no matter what for the 1st couple weeks, but I'll w8 to make that decision as I get there. So far, out of 5 germs, I have 4 sprouts!!! In 2 days! Yay. Now I only hope at least 2/5 are females.

Oh and I turned on the CFLs 2... I couldn't help it, I just like them so much.

The LED panel gives a healthy spectrum, but the sheer K output of the CFLs makes a huge difference in there, I don't want to waste anymore time than I have already. (Can u believe this is my 3rd run since June? crazy.)

Damn, it's been a while... I don't know why, but I just got impatient and stopped caring for them. I ended up leaving them outside.

1 has survived tho! So I brought her back in and topped her on her 1st node (just to see what happens?)

There are 4 more germs i planted in their final pots. This is gonna be a hyper-flower because they lights are on 10, off 14.

We'll see what happens when you put way too much light on babies, then leave em' in the dark for 2 extra hours every night from birth.
