Ok, heres the deal. I grew 1 pot plant a long time ago indoors along with a cat-nip plant under 2 regular 15'' fluorescents. The catnip got about 6'' and the pot about 1 foot and they were in small 6'' pots with miraclegrow soil and flant food. I have been doing alot of research online about lighting and have learned that since I have limited space, very small budget, I decided the best way for me to go would be CFL's. But I still would like some hand to hand info 'ya know? Well, I would like to grow 3 plants and I was thinking the best thing to do would be to use a box and cover the inside with aluminum foil and reinforce it with some duct tape or something. Or I could build one out of PVC piping and cover it with a white sheet then put a black one over that for the exposed light. I Have one 24'' flourescent, one 15'' and a 25 watt cfl. I put them in a vaccume box and I am waiting for some regular ol' seeds to sprout then I would like to just see how it works out. I do realize I will have to add more lights after it grows some.

I would really like to knows what you guys would reccomend for a grow box/space. Like, how much space does one plant take up, how big will it get, how do I try and keep the plant kind of short but still bud.

As for lights, I was looking at these set ups.
Can someone tell me the difference between the first 3? Thats around my price range for lighting.

And since I am going to be using soil what would you reccomend? I was planning on using Miraclegrow potting soil, plant food, and what types of fertilizer are there that would work good? I have noticed on alot of pics that in the soil there lots of white like pebbles that I do know are fertilizer's.

And whats the vegitative stage and the flowering stage? Whats the difference and what comes first?

I will probably add more questions when I need to learn more.

Thanks, James.:leaf:

Veging comes first, then you flower...

Depending on what light your running or how big you want your plants to be you should veg for bigger results but in your case CFL will not give enough heat so you should keep them small you should start veging from seeds i've seen a grow like this in the grow journal section... just do a search and you will find what you want e.g. "CFL GROW"

More cfl's you use the better results your going to get...

Good luck... :)

thanks! Is the flowering stage when it buds? And the veg. stage is the plant growing and sprouting leaves, when thats done it flowers? as in buds? And would it be good to maybe use a humidifyer at times to make it more moist in there so it can mold/bud better? I remember reading that somewhere?

Veg Phase: When the plant establishes its growth after seedling and is on its way to maturity

Flowering: When you decide to move the plant to 12/12 (Preferrably at least a foot tall) little white Pistils will start to emerge from the females, or pollen sacks from the males.

Always keep an eye on your plants late in vegging or start of flowering for signs of males.. you want to get them out ASAP before they nut on your girls

When the plant is flowering you do not want a lot of humidity cause it will cause mold, and do you really want to be smoking mold?
