If you only had 1 light

Ok if you only had one light and 1 light only (low on cash ) what would you get?

I have a £100 to spend or there about and need to find out what would be the best one to get?

I have been looking around the net and have found a few but just dont know what one to go for. theres so many different ones what with the light of the blub white , red , blue ect

Then theres the watt I know I wont need a 1000w one but would I need to get a 250w? 400w? OR even a 1000w?

The size of my grow room is 4ft(w) 3ft(h) by 1 1/2ft

This noob needs help so any good links you could give me to where i can buy one from would be good

EDIT] Or could i buy one light but just different blubs?

How did you grow turn out under that light?

For vegeative and flowering so I take it that the blub will do the whole GROW for me with out having to change it at any point?

Also as you have used it was is the heat like under it would I need to get the heat shield for it as well?

With a 400w hps I grew 6 plants in a closet and yeilded a little over a qp. That is a good light to start with you will be very pleased.

If you want to grow under a single light, I can highly recommend a 400w sylvania grolux lamp, this is a dual spectrum bulb that has a higher percentage of blue light for the veg stage. I think it is better to have a bulb that can do both stages but is better for flowering, as this is when the plants will really need it.

Oh and with the grolux if it hasnt got four leaves on the box its just a flower light.

My current grow was grown under a single 400w hps and its in its third week of flowering.

Where are you going to grow, basement cupboard open space, depends on the heat level produced

This is the one I would go for it will produce quite a bit of heat I have a 400w in a similar sized cupboard and temp usually is around 28c when light on and 21 when light off

If you live anywhere near nottingham I would go in person as you get a better deal the lighting i just bought from there was to do the grow stage alone.

well I live in lowerstoft (east cost) Im not to sure how far that is away from nottingham but I dont mind paying a bit more if it is the right one and will do the whole grow for me

its just a better ballast thats all

but the bulb you want is sylvania groluxm that will do you from start to finish as that is what i have been using on my first grow. If I were you I would go for this one

nottingham is way to far for you to travel, so go with this one the bulb is really good.

Its a high pressure sodium bulb these are usually more towards the red end of the scale but these ones have been altered to do the whole grow.

This is a 600w bulb with info on what the bulbs are like couldn't find info on the 400w, but the 400w has 58,000 lumens

Thats the fella, didnt notice it was a fiver extra though as it shows the bulb in the pic.

But reading further down it does say upgrade to the dual spectrum, that is the one to get as that will see you right through all the grow.

M8 thats is a well nice plant....If mine turns out half as good that I would be happy.

And I dont know I have my Timers, Pots, Vents, Mylar is on its way and the seeds I will get as soon as I am all set up and the growlight

I know that I need to get some soil a ph kit a fan or 2 and some nutrients< but dont even have a clue as to what ones to get

And if you know of anything eles that I have missed which could be a lot let me know and I will get it..

I havent grown in soil so I am not sure of everything you will need, but you will probably find somewhere that will do eveyrthing you need in a kit form that comes with a discount.

I found this site earlier though might be worth a read I dont know maybe some of the people who use soil might be able to give you a better idea.
