those get way to hot man
burn dem plants to a crisp and not enough light so those 42w cfls would have been a whole lot better
sorry man better luck next time :)

Incandescent is not suitable at all you must take them back. You need flourescent and nothing with the word incandescent. That's just a regular incandescent light bulb but in a flood package. Worthless...

42w is about as high as it gets at these local hardware stores
if you do decide to order online just go with a used hps on ebay or someithng

next time check the amount of lumens the light produces, most lights will have it listed in the same place where it tells the watts and life expectancy of the bulb:) try to get lights with 1,500 lumens or more a piece if your gonna use cfls.
GOOD LUCK HAPPY GROWING

wow i have never heard of home depot only having 42w, i recently went there and saw some 300w thing was HUGE check again man, or even try to go to lowes. wally world has em up to 100w box of 6 for 13$, not a bad deal id say cuz you get damn near 10500 lumens. which is good enough for maybe two plants

thats the only huge one they have....i bought 2 of them....both of them came on and went out within seconds...not to mention they are only 2700k bulbs...and i mean those would b good for flowering i guess..but they seem rediculous lol. they were so big in my grow area.

I can't speak for Home Depots close to you guys, but I bought a couple huge 68 watt cfls for about 15 bucks a piece at a Home Depot near me in South Florida.

68W(actual) = 300W equivalent
21W to 26W(actual) = 100W equivalent

Equivalent means shit, ignore it.

id do mh/hps if i knew how to set up wiring/ how to work a ballast... and if i went hids id have to get exhause and fans.. which i dont know how to wire... unless they are normal plug into a wall kinda fans lol

id like to go cfl because ballast are built in... generally they dont over heat... you dont need ventilation really... though it does help.. plus they are pretty cheap and drastically reduce your hydro bill.
