thinking about new 4x4

I was planning on building a new room/ closet setup from scratch.. it's going to be about 4'6'' X 4'.. i was wondering would a 1000 watt hps be a good lighting source for the space..

i don't have a whole lot of money and was planing to do a soil gro.. i will be vegging the plants in the same space but using 4- 4' floro fixtures to veg about 8 plants in 5 gallon pots..
will the 1000watt give me great buds because one of my friends is a patient and i'd like to beable to help him out..

or i might just have a seperate area to veg in with a mother plant under floros.. unsure yet..

if you can have a seperate area to veg,... then 1000hps should give you about 6000 lumins a square foot and thats pleanty to bud in
why not take clones and do a sog, then you could fit 50 or 60 plants in there in 6 inch pots

i was thinking that but the chance is alway there of getting busted and being charged with 9 plants and with 50-60 is totally different .. also if i'll get about 6000 lumins per sq ft is that good.. how much would it be the bare minium to bud and get a good harvest..
