Can anyone help a newbie grower?

I have a big room so size is not the issue but i wanted to know how many plants i can grow, how close the light should be to the plants and how long it would take (an average or guess) to grow. If possible a way to speed up the veg. time and harvest less but faster with good quality. Also any advice you would like to give me.

Info:
  • I am ussing a 150 watt sun system grow light.
  • I am ussing seeds from a good batch I had.
  • I am ussing a basic starter fertilizer that i have for my indoor tomatoes and peppers.
Thanks man,

150 watts? An 18" X 18" X 32" grow cabinet is all you will need.
And one good female clone would be best. Good luck.

if you wanna speed up the process grow hydro...it takes off couple weeks of grow..cant really do anything to speed it up..150w the light prolly isnt very hot..so you can keep it pretty close to them

could try this,
set up an area about 2.5'x2.5' with about 4' of height atleast, lined with mylar or poly and a few PC fans for ventilation and circulation.
start in plastic or foam cups for first 2 wks then move into 6" pots and then into 10-12" pots.
dont veg at all, just set the lights on 12/12 and the plants will sex at about 3-4wks old and be finished in about 12-14wks from seed.
if you start seeds every 4-6wks youll be harvesting every 4-6wks.
im using a 250w in a similar way atm. i have 6 plants under it now, 2 are 4-5wks flowering, 2 are in 1st wk of flowering and 2 just sprouted. after the first harvest i should have a harvest every 4-5wks of about an oz depending on the plants.
this is a perpetual grow from seed. using fem seeds would be good but if its bagseed then just start 3-4 seeds each time and hope for 2 fems, pick the best plants to keep. theyll still be in the 6" pots so youll be able to fit them under the light easily whilst waiting to see sex.
you may be able to fit more plants under the light but youll have to judge that for yourself.
you should be able to keep the light about 4-6" away with a fan blowing on it.
use no ferts whilst in the cup. mild ferts when first in the 6" pot and full strength flowering nutes in the big pots. buy some decent stuff to use for flowering, high P and K and low N. really low in N.
ask back here before you buy any ferts so you dont waste money. saving $5 a bottle on cheap nutes isnt a saving if they wont work very well.
buy a decent bag of soil with perlite and NO time release ferts in it, then add more perlite. perlite is good stuff, it aids drainage and aeration of the roots and helps prevent overwatering.
