first grow hydro

Makes sense to me. Thanks. I clone to eliminate problems later. When I was growing from bagseed I cloned right before I switched to 12/12 and discarded the males to the hash pile and then clone the clones for future crops.

I really, really like your set-up. The plants are all healthy (minor things on a couple but absolutely no big deal). The temp, ph and humidity are spot on for this stage of the grow! I was thinking of a rockwool block in a e&f table but this looks better. Great job!

I will clone these once for sexing and thats it , just to get the hang of cloning , then flower the mothers , keep some more clones to flower again while I grow the good strains from seed . by the time the seeds get ready for the with good enough roots I will take the clones that room and put them in the flowering room . . do you prefer hydro or soil

I grow tomatoes in soil and my other things in hydro. I prefer hydro so I can control all aspects of what they get or don't get. Tried to plant one outside earlier this year and a rabbit got it. Thought about doing soil when I first became interested in growing inside but just not enough control and fixability for problems. It's not like you can dump the soil and start over if you screw up.

Started from bagseed, vegged them to 12-14", cloned them, switched to 12/12, discarded the males and the male clones and it's been female clones ever since. Started a batch of fem seeds the grow before last, cloned those and now have their sisters vegging and they are about 8-10". I cut my current grow of 2 LSD and 1 Blue Cheese on Sunday. 32-34" in height. Expecting 8-10 oz. Using a 250 watt HPS and 105watt CFL's for side lights and just added a UVB reptile light to harden the buds and get more trichs. Don't know if that makes a lot of difference but it seems to work so far. I now get that every 8 weeks.

fuckin A , that exactly what I am aiming for , I got myself a screen to scrog but I wont do it untill I got a full grow under my belt to see the waight diffrence

I thought bout using a screen and actually bought some 2" chicken wire but have never used it. I can control the height and exposure to the light by using Low stress training where you grab the stalk one or more nodes below the bud and bend it by squeezing the sides of the stalk between your index finger and thumb and squeeze it on all sides until it weakens the support and it falls to a 90 degree angle or so. Was chichen shit about hurting them at first but now can do it with a flick of my wrist like unhooking a bra! LOL! I grow in an attic closet with a pitched ceiling and I have anywhere for 4' to 7' in ceiling height and LST helps me keep everything even.

I only bend them a little (top couple of nodes) and they stay in bounds. Just keep it in mind as another way to limit height and expose more buds to the light which is kind of the purpose of the screen also. I hang my lights from cup hooks screwed into the ceiling with a thick plastic chain attached (easy to cut to length) and use S hooks attached to the light supports on the light itself to move it up and down. Takes me about 10 secs to move the light. My grow area is only about 42" wide x 3' deep.

thats what I am using the cup hooks with a metal chain though I got the chain real cheap 40 feet for 5 dollers . on another note the new nutes I am using is great and my girls love it . they have boosted since changing and turned greener even though future garden said it has a ph buffer in which it does.nt , other than that is's great

gonna post pics tomorrow:peace:

I use the General Hydro Flora series. Allows me to be a mad chemist on my nute levels. I have to use the hard water micro due to me using 350ppm tap water. Served me very well the last 3 grows. I also use a litle Super Thrive, Cal-Mag (good for hard water to make sure they have enough) and my big hitter is Liquid Karma. That stuff is like motor oil and I only use it in flower because I heard from another grower that it can gum up by feeder tubes which I need untl the roots hit the res. Usually ( 3 grows at least) get an immediate 2-3" of growth and the leaves get all shiny and in my case the stalk gets noticable thicker. I also sometime use hygrozyme since my roots in the res are in 73-75 degree water and anything over 72 can intive root rot. Diring the winter it's not much of a problem but summer can get a little hot in these parts. Can't see needing that for ebb and flow though. It does however convert dead root material to nutes that the plant can use so if you ever get any root problems hygrozyme is the way to go. My new strain plants seem to love all the nutes and supplement I through at it. Especially the LSD. It can really take the nutes! It does spread out big time so I'm not sure you setup would be best for that type of plant. What strain are those girls you have in there. I forgot.

they are dank seeds , just some really good bud that had a few good seeds in them , a buddy of mine that sells let me have them to practice on but I have the three strain special from http://marijuana-seeds.nl/seed-specials.html
the durbin poision purple widow holland hope and the freebee afgan x mazar.
wow thats a prety high ppm for just tap water mine over here is 180-190.

I love bud porn in the morning! PPM looks like you are running about 1/2 load of nutes. It's unreal but my total ppm runs about 2700 with the nutes, water and additives. 350 water - 1200 nutes - 1150 Liquid Karma, Cal-Mag, Super thrive and hygrozyme. Scared the shit out of me at first but the plants love it. Just threw some FloraKleen in this morning in anticipation of cutting on Sunday.

thats way too mant diffrent nutes , I am going to keep it simple . as far as the ppm being at 800 thats from the research I've found . they state 1/4 strength untill 4 weeks old and then full blast on them bitches . I am not refilling the rez and letting the ppm raise to see how much the babys can take . if you have any advice , just shoot:bigjoint:

Understand the reluctance on the additives. For a while there on the first grows I bought everything recommended. Problem is they do work and I think I'm more experimental than you on the nute side but your experimentation is more geared to the machinery. With that trimeter you'll do fine. I used test strips and had no ppm pen my first two grows. That's one of the things I'd change but you live and learn. IN the nute level I go by number of sets of leaves. No nutes until second set of true leaves. Two sets - 1/4, 3 sets - 1/2, 4 sets and roots in the water, full strength but added over a couple of days to make sure.

ya i fed mine a little too early and burned the shit out of them but they are ok now , one of the ones I cut while puting the net pot covers on , the groth has slowed down . I can tell couse the rest are off to the races and that one is just at the top of the hole of the cover , its nothing big though it'll heal
