No worries, they will come up soon enough, like tomorrow. You can put them under a small amount of light, or on a heater pad. I use t-5s and I kept 2 bulbs on for me seeds. (24" above).

Next time just do the paper towel method, that way you know what seeds are good and you can let the rootlet get started.

Hopefuly you only buried your seeds 2 seeds (sideways) deep, and rootlet (white pokey thing) down. And once there in leave them there. Even if one floats it might still be okay, but I doubt it. They should sprout anywhere from 3-10 days.

I've always planted directly in moist soil kept under about 18/6 light, with temps at about 77-80. Never have a problem.

You dont really need light til they above ground, I been germing mine in darkness, than when they come up with their helmets on I move those to the flouro light.

Im not a spokesman or anything lolz, but try rapid rooters for seedlings, I love these, im 20 for 20 using these this year not one seedling failed. The ones I germed this week took 36 hours, last one germed at 50.

I let mine sprout its taproot and then planted them in the soil under a CFL light and the last couple of days I’ve left them outside in a greenhouse. It’ll be 4 days today since I planted them in the soil since I saw their taproots and it will be 1 week tomorrow since I started the germination progress (got my seeds last Wednesday). However I’ve not seen anything shoot above the soil yet.

This morning I put some water over them (they had got a bit dry from being in the greenhouse yesterday) and the water washed away some soil on one of the seedlings and fingers crossed it looked quite healthy. The taproot had got a bit longer and nearer the top where the seed shell is, it had gone very green. I’m hoping this is the stem part trying to grow.

I’ve been told not to worry about timescales so much (especially for a first time grow) as it can really vary on many things (heat conditions, humidity, soil, water, PH level and remember the seeds themselves are ALL different). As people keep telling me, they are a weed which means that although they need a lot of light as they grow bigger, they should be able to start life easily enough.

Just try to be patient and let them get on with doing their thing. Don’t poke around at them either. Leave the soil on top and just keep them warm and the top fairly moist (but be careful not to put TOO much water in).

Best of luck and keep us updated with your plants progress. I feel like I’m in a similar situation to you. :)

Instead of fucking about with flicking switches on and off, why don't you get a timer switch? They plug straight into the wall/extension lead and you can set it to come on and off. In the UK they only cost about 6 or 7 quid. But yeah, if they are under the earth I can't see light being important whatsoever unless it's helping provide more heat. However, when it is above the soil you'll need as much light on as poss (and as close as poss to stop it stretching) for it to grow fast and strong. All the best.

I leave the light on 24hrs for the first 2-4 weeks. Timers are 4-7$

PUT THEM ON A WINDOW CILL DURING THE DAY MAKE SURE THE GROW MEDIUM IS NICE AND MOIST.BUT CONTARY TO BELIEF THE SEEDLIGS WOULD BE FINE WITHOUT ANYLIGHT FOR A FEW DAYS BUT WE A WHAT IS CALLED FORCE GROWING.IN FUTURE NEVER PLANT THE SEEDLING LOWER THAN A COUPLE OF MILL.THE DEEPER THE SEEDS ARE PLANTED THE LONGER THE SEEDLING WILL TAKE TO COME.YOU WILL FIND IF SEEDLINGS ARE PLANTED TOO DEEP THEN YOU WILL THINK THAT THEY ARE DEAD BUT WHAT IS REALY HAPPENING IS THAT THEY ARE D ING NO NOT DIEING THEY KINDA GROW ROUND THEM SELF LIKE A LETTER d IF YOU LOOK AT THIS d THIS IS WHAT IS HAPPENING UNDER THE SOIL DON'T PANIC THEY WILL BE FINE.THE SEED STARTS OFF CURLS AROUND IT SELF THEN POPS OUT OF THE TOP.
