My first 3 chamber closet grow with Blueberry

I just read about half your journal and I can see why you would think that there might be an environmental problem. I also noted though that you have been running a very high ph (6+ sometimes as high as 8) for most of this grow and that can certainly give you the lookouts that were apparent during early veg. It can very well be a combination of new grow room (building materials) and high ph which makes it even more difficult to diagnose. Sorry mate, I would just keep a couple of control plants outside the grow chamber during next veg and see if the ones inside the grow space are affected in a negative way. I would consider a lower ph of 5.6-6.0 in Hydro.

Good luck Pro, I know how frustrating this can be ;)

Unity:hug:

Ive just finished reading other peoples blueberry grows & Ive found out that this specific strain is naturally a small growing strain which needs to be FIMed or TOPed to encourage more growth.
Ill lower the PH during the next grow & compare the differences hopefully the environment is fine...fingers crossed!

Thanks for taking the time to help out much appreciated.

Still in Week 8 & on one of the plants the top half of the cola is showing discolouration probably because I didnt back up on the nutes (1200PPM but now at 1000PPM).
If you look carefully at the top right plant the tip of the main cola is brown & has a tinge like complexion while the lower half & all other buds on the plant is all one colour. Is it just a case of too much nutes or is that one plant nearly done? Im uncertain because the pistils on the tip of the cola are all brown but rest are white.

I little bad news...I found mould on the tip of the main cola on one of the plants, I snipped it off hoping it wont spread onto the other buds or even the other plants. How it occurred I dont know but I think it may have been a result of fresh airflow coming in direct contact of that bud thus moistening it & causing mould to grow.

Here are some pics of the mouldy bud & the other plants.

I found this thing buried within the bud, Im not sure what it is but it looks like a little black stone but not as heavy maybe a buildup of the mould?

SPOT THE DIFFERENCE

You going to flush soon? Sorry to heard about the mold man, looks like they are almost ready.
Yep I began flushing today, Ive sbipped off the rotten bud hopefully it wont spread. The humidity is at 35-45% temps at 25-27C I never mist, I just cant figure out how the rot developed.
Are there any products that I can use which will prevent bud rot in futre grows?

A sulfur vaporizer or spraying some milk mixed with some water will prevent mold. Really anything that lowers the Ph of the leaf surface will stop mold growth. I think the rot may have developed because the top of that cola is dying for some reason.

Thats the first thing that crossed my mind.
I was planning on harvesting when the plants were fully ripe, I noticed that the plant was beginning to turn a slight golden tinge colour & all the hairs on the higher region of the cola were amber & receding. So I was wondering if it was beginning to degrade but then again the rest of the buds on that plant are nice & green with approx 40-50% pistils amber.

Lets see the results at the end of the 2 weeks flushing period.

I'll be watching looks tasty so far. Maybe you can make some brownies with the moldy crap.:peace:

I've done it, just make oil with the bud don't actually add it to your brownies. A friend of mine just did the same about a week ago she enjoyed it
Ive already binned the rotted bud but Ill keep that in mind for next time, hopefully there wont be a next time. He he he.

Thanks for your input NewGrowth.

nice lookin buds bro, moldy just cause they are soo fat and nice. If you put moldy buds in a jar of water, most of the mold spores float away really fast. My hash screens came with a thing saying to put moldy buds in water to get the mold off first. probably just a fan blowin on the buds at night could keep mold at bay. some of the best lookin blueberry Ive seen in a while

Harvest last night, nobody told me trimming was this tiring. It took me 15 hours to cut off as many leaves as possible.
The buds are currently drying.

Hey!

Good job well done I see!!!

Now wasn't that an experience ;-)
I feel like Ive found my future. Despite the wait that was so much fun the only thing I didnt enjoy was the cleaning of the Atami system so Im going to grow 1 last crop of BB (lollipopping this time) & then Im going to use good ol soil. Itll be a perpetual grow with 16 or 25 plants.

The only problem with this harvest is this https://www.rollitup.org/harvesting-curing/199741-why-these-blueberry-buds-fluffy.html

A huge thanks to:
TRICKKY, 9inchbigbud,newgrowth & the rest of you who helped with your experiences & theories (sorry I cant recall all the avatar names)

so what was the total time in flower before you chopped?

11 weeks of flowering but keep in mind that I had some issue such as nute lock out & over feeding so the plants were stunted in growth. I think I really messed up because the buds are very airy & fluffed up though it was my first grow.
Now that I know what to expect Ill have beeter luck on my 2nd try, this time using the lollipop method.

Wish me luck.
