That is the mixture I have used for doing clones but not for using as a full grow medium.

Go out and get some garden soil to add to that mixture and you should be OK.

Peat/Perlite is a neutral medium so you'd want to use some additives to beef it up for your kids. Bone Meal + Manure + Blood Meal, but don't overdo it or your PH will go crazy. PH in the medium makes the biggest difference to your babies that you'll be able to notice. Good PH and they will grow fine, bad PH and you'll know it. It isn't really the type of nutes you use, it's your plant being able to USE all the nutes you give it. Bad PH won't let your plants uptake nutes so it doesn't really matter what kind you have!

agreed. I just use fox farm ocean forest cause it has the nutes mixed in for the first month and the ph is still real neutral. you can do 50/50 as I have added pearlite to the fox farm before(it already has some but I like good drainage) cause despite popular belief peat moss can compact overtime, especially when transplanting to different containers(in my experience). like he said iff you want to add supplememnts do it real light at first. you can always add a little more by mixing in with the plants water but trying to undo too much is alot harder

Just get stronger with your additives near the bottom of the container and you can always add more into the top layer of medium to be watered in. Also rocks in the bottom of your container for drainage is a must! Put enough so your drain holes are never plugged up completely.
