New Aerogarden Growth Journal: Black Pearl

Hi guys..here is my second attempt to grow with the aerogarden setup. The first attempt was awesome but was cut short due to travel and no one to help tend to it. :cry:

using foxfarm.
tupperware with paper towel setup to get the seed cracking. 4/4 cracked. no pics.

8/5 seedlings

8/7 one of the seedling got sliced off from the stem by accident. I immediately germinated another black pearl seed. however i just stuck the beheaded seedling back into the pods. hence having 5 plants now.

8/12 - pics attached.

the five Chives, Basil, Dill, Parlsey (the fifth seed), thyme (stem was cut when seedling)

look at the pics bro, it is mary j, the names hes using to identify them is what the labels on the little cups say.

LOL yeah you can get some odd looking plants to start. I had a Hindu kush that looked like a mutant when she was young. It was only growing one leaf for about 10 days and that leaf was about 3" long and then the plant exploded with growth and is now my best looking plant...

gonna flower at week 3 instead of week 4.

how do you have your lights set up on yours??

I have my hood at the lowest notch but my plant seems to have quite a bit of stem at the moment. it's about a week and a half old now; 2-2.5 inches tall and just showing its 3rd node. Any advice???

And I also plan on pruning mine as i go along, any advice on that also???

Week 3 pics.

Since i'm going to start the 12/12 cycle at the end of week 3 instead of week 4...i skipped week 3 of the feeding schedule from the foxfarm chart.


Basil and Chives are my two best performers.

Chives has the thickest stem and compact.

Dill - bigger leaves compare to the rest.

below is thyme: the seedling who's stem got slice off by accident. its amazing that its still alive and thriving.

Parsley: not sure what happened to it. tips of leaves were drying up pretty bad. I thought it was the nurits however the other plants are doing fine.

aphex, i'm not using the hood nor lights that came with the devices. i find that the hood doesn't go low enough and the lights not strong enough.

Sup everyone,

Disregard my post about my stem being lanky. It's about 2in. now and the nodes are compact and I can see that new branches are already forming. I still can't believe how friggin fast this thing is growing. I've grown indoors with soil and got really decent yields from that but this is on a whole other level.

I want to prune this back, but I don't want to just top it and make new stems. I'll probably do that one or twice, but does anyone have pruning tips on how to grow out more than up????

can you post a picture and the exact name of the nutrients you are using.... and your feeding schedule...

are you using distilled water?
