So with all the recent activity in N.Korea how should the international community respond?
Well for starters perhaps you could pop some links up to exactly what you are talking about...So with all the recent activity in N.Korea how should the international community respond?

Yeah...Its no big deal really. They only blew up an atomic weapon the size of Nagasaki..
Yea, what to do. These guys are crazy..
We could give South Korea Nukes and thus allow North Korea and South Korea stare at each other over the tips of their Nukes.let em nuke south korea, china would step in and probly help then maybe russia would nuke china and korea. hell it could be a hell of a time.
Han Park, a scholar at the University of Georgia, said North Korea wants normal diplomatic relations and a non-aggression pact with the United States -- and is "angry enough and hungry enough to sell anything they can put their hands on."

Geeze Ilk. I actually agree with you on this one, amazing. I also believe we should close all our foriegn bases, cut military spending to the bone, and let foriegn countries be all that they can be without our interference. Yeah, I actually liked Ron pauls stance on foriegn policy and military spending. I actually liked his policies on a lot of things, The exceptions were in the social areas where he wanted to do away with social programs and let those areas be taken care of by private charities, that would never work."Of course, this logic is contingent upon the fact that pursuing nuclear weapons in a sovereign state is a right (which I think it is)."
That is it isn't it, are we going to be the world police.
Or are we gonna treat others the way we would like to be treated.
The N.Koreans want to be taken seriously.
If I was in their position, I would to.
Just because they are not America,
doesn't mean they have no sovereign rights.
We should open up trade and have freindly relations with all nations.
We should bring all our troops home from everywhere.
Start treating other countries with respect.
Instead of targets for merchintilism.
Orson Scott Card is the author that your considering. And he is alive and well in Greensboro NCYeah...
To paraphrase a book I read recently (Empire by something Card (same guy that wrote Ender's Game))
If you are dealing with a dog that bites and snarls at you there are few good options open to you. Firstly, if you beat the dog then you are just left with a beaten dog, and the problem is not resolved. If you kill the dog then you have a dead dog, but if you remove the reasons why it bites and snarls at you the problem is resolved. The dog is still alive and isn't even your enemy.
Yeah, he's a good author.Orson Scott Card is the author that your considering. And he is alive and well in Greensboro NC
Love his stuff
http://www.china.org.cn/international/2009-05/28/content_17848520.htmSorry, you guys obviously arent getting the same news coverage as we are in the Uk. Other than the ''Nagasaki size'' nuke they detonated, they have also recently fired a mock 'satelite' that was obviously ballistic missile practice, they have fired several short range (100km) missiles and today have said that they are no longer in a state of cease fire with S.Korea due to their agreement with the US over searching all shipping headed for N.Korea to search for wmd's. A strike on S.Korea is imminent as retaliation by KJ il has been guaranteed if another ship is stoppped.
Kim is a lunatic, who knows what's going to happen. I'm willing to bet this is all fear mongering. If North Korea attacks, they will be at war with the US and nobody wants that. But then again, they definitely seem to be provoking a fight. The South Korea-U.S. Combined Command Forces raised the watch level against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) by one notch on Thursday, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported, citing an official.
According to South Korean defense spokesman Won Tae-jae, the Combined Forces raised the Watchcon system, the process of changing the reconnaissance posture for strategic and tactical warning of attack, at local time 07:15 Thursday (2215 GMT Wednesday) from Level 3 to Level 2.
The second level of the five-stage system marks "vital indications of threat," under which the South Korean and U.S. forces are to step up their intelligence-collection activities.
Meanwhile, the five-stage alerting procedure, "Defcon," remains at four, the official said.
The recent decision marks the first elevation in the Watchcon since October 2006 when the DPRK conducted its first nuclear test.
The Watchcon raise came amid rising military tensions on the Korean Peninsula as the DPRK conducted a nuclear test on Monday, followed by continuous military threats with several short-range missile firings.
South Korea reacted with announcing its full participation in a U.S.-led nonproliferation campaign, which the DPRK had warned to be regarded as a declaration of war.
