hey all, iv been searching past forum posts for the past hour or so trying to find the answer to my question:

what is the difference between expensive seeds like the seeds from sensi and cheaper seeds from other seed banks?

the more detailed answer the better, thanks ;]

Sensi is a better breeder, their strains will have more desirable phenotypes and probably better genetics, tried and true, over the cheaper breeders.

If you check Elite genetics' prices you'll see that they hardly fall outside the category of "high prices don't guarantee good genetics". Find me ONE really good deal on their site! I'll admit, I've never used them as a seed source myself, but I'm willing to stake something of significant value that says that most, even the more experienced growers on this board, or others, hasn't done a scientifically rigid enough experiment in comparing identical strains side by side under identical growing conditions to tell you one way or the other. That's what makes so much of the claims on the internet, or reputation-based, so subjective. Do what you want, but if it was my money, I'd find a cheaper alternative to get my desired results. Feeding the beast is not something I've ever been willing to go along with. :peace:

I've not grown a lot - but I've never had any problems with Paradise seeds, but last time I grew Nirvana which were about a quid a seed instead of the £6-8 per seed Paradise...germed 3, one didn't survive and one was male (ok, theres a price difference from the paradise being fem and the nirvana being reg...but paradise reg seeds are more expensive anyway - and I used the colloidal silver method on the nirvanas which was supposed to send them all female...assuming it would have worked, 1 out of 3 for the cheap seeds and 4 out of 4 for the not-so-cheap seeds...so it stands to reason doesn't it that the better seeds you buy the more luck you'll have?)

I think of it as this way...If I just want to grow a strain one time I usually will go cheap and sprout all my beans. If your keeping your genetics and cloning, do your homework and get the best breeder of that particular stain. If your going with something that is an F-1 that is grows uniformly with little variation. You will only have to grow 3 or 4 beans to get the wining girl. So you can even stash the remaining seed and sprout them years later if stored correctly. Most of your cheeper breeders are Inbreeds of the original. That leads to loss of potency eventually the more they replicated. KC brains, KC33 is supposed to be very good and cheep. So there is some stuff out there that gets champaine taste and potency on a beer budget.

60 bucks for god bud, plus 10 freebies of another.it is one sweet indica that also gives your head a trip.island sweet skunk75 bucks and you got one stable kick ass sativa.75 dollars for chimeras calizhar and you have some sturdy genetics that have taste potency and yield(just had the oppurtunity to try some for first time,im a believer in chimera after that smoke).50 bucks for jackfrost 10 seeds and if you dont find a mother, growings not your thing.their are so many great genetics around for 75 dollars are less.i would gladly put anything DJ Short bred in my room any day of the week.he probably tested more plants then half the seed salesmen combined.
