I'm about to put my baby into some soil and I wanted to know if anyone can tell me approximately how many lumens are needed during the vegging, and flowering stage.

i had 5 plants under 100,000 lumens during veg and flower the first two weeks i had a different light tho and they were getting 50,000 in the end i got 3/4 of a pound if i stayed with 50,000 probably woulda got a half pound maybe a lil less idk..maybe that will give u an idea what to go with cuz im not sure if u want something big or small..go with a hps tho 4sure

right, hps is the way to go, but since I"m going to be doing it with cfls I'm trying to sub. all the elements as much as possible.

It depends on your light type. Lumens are not comparable between different light sources, as they emit completely different spectrums and different intensities per wavelength.

right, so that just made a lot of sense right now. Just depends on what kind of flowers your trying to produce. Different light, different specs. I think I'm just going to invest on an hps (150), you think that would be sufficient for a 8"x 8"?

yes 64 sq inches.do you think a 150 hps would be sufficient for 2 kids? or would more be (REQUIRED* )

I'd probably run fluoro tubes vertically(in the four corners, maybe one down the middle) in that small space.
