how much electricity is too much?

You would think that with a power company, using heaps of power ($1000 pm) that as long as you paid your bill on time they wouldn't even admit to the police if they asked....?

I mean it would be in their best interest to stay quiet.... cause you go to prison, they lose potentially 12K a year from you...? lol

Bit like owning a hydroponic store and every guy that comes in and buys any nutes made for cannabis, you dob into the police resulting in you being out of business...

That is insane. That is roughly 22 years of electricity for my house going by my last year’s monthly average and my home is 2,750 sq. ft. and 100% electric.

Paying an average of $2,500.00 per month would hurt my feelings very deeply regardless of what it brought me in return.
I'm running 18 lights. 12-750's and 6-600's with fans and pumps and paying $2000 to $2500 per month. I have 4 other houses doing the same thing and all paying for PG&E. . basicly I have to give up Two of my flowering lights to pay for power. So i harvest 10 lights instead of 12. By paying for power it keeps me leagal. Even at my small grow at my house with 2-600w digitals, a 8" canfan, and 2 airkind osilating(sp) fans my billis between $400-550 per month. As long as I pay my bill they don't care. If I was stealing power then they can have the authorities come in the house with a warrent because it's a crime.

Running two hottubs and leaving all the lights on in your house 24/7 isn't a crime so how can they get me for power consuption?

I never said that any amount of legal power consumption was criminal. I merely expressed my shock and amazement at your electricity bill. Regardless of what it would bring me I would soil myself from disgust over having to fork out roughly $2,500.00 per month for electricity.

That is roughly 21 months of electricity for my home and as I mentioned it is 2,750 sq. ft. and 100% electric right down to my well pump and two heat pumps. I just cannot fathom ever using anywhere near as much electricity as you.

But that’s just me.

uhhhh, 3 1000w lamps isn't going to be over $1300 a month. I really don't care if you guys believe me or not, I personally know a CA med patient that has been running 6 1000w lamps for many many years and has been caught twice for power bill, being a med patient all he got was a slap on the wrist.
I thought you meant 1000w since everybody else was talking about watts...

Grow4Profit you got 4 houses what do you do for a living???

I grow for profit...
I rent the houses. some are from people I know and some aren't. I have a team working under me to manage the day to day stuff as well as a partener to run things.

I have a day job as a stock broker for a major wall street firm.

The DOW's down 130 and the S&P just broke 900 again. That's why I need a second source of income.

Yes. I agree with you whole heartedly. The fact that I have to give so much of my income to PG&E is almost criminal. I feel like i'm being raped and robbed but I have know other choice if I am to do what I am doing. I just have to bend over and take it up the culo with no lube whatsoever.

damn thats tight, second source of income why dont you just buy stocks?
I was thinkin of doin that myself but I dont know nothin about stocks...
Because the stock market is in a recession and the pot market is up and thriving. This is a unique opportunity because pot is almost legal here but it's not quite legal. Meaning you can grow with minimal consequences and still have the high prices of a banned substance.

yeah but we live in a snitch filled society that is turning toward full blown socialism. i would say most employees dont care too much if the company loses a good customer. plus the guy that reads your meter can make a few bucks if he turns you in.

Greetings one and all
Ummmm, with that kind of usage, you are in need of some sort of alternate energy production methood. Oh my, a gridtie system generating 5kw would cut down on the powerbill. No batteries, just dump the power onto the grid during the day and use power off the grid at night. And not only do you cut the bill but there are tax incentives that will lower the cost of the pv arrays. Since you might possibly be in the market for lets say 5 systems, you might get a discount on 5 ready designed systems. Just ask for like 6 mos to evaluate each installation. Ok, now on with the topic. I am on the East Coast and the police here pick up information from informants(power company employee or neighboor or who knows)" Gee, I smelled something funny there. " And then they start gathering information. Like power bill and phone records and blah blah. But the big thing is that the power company doesn't produce a list and give it to the police.
