Fu htg supply!

I've been running HTG digital greenhouse lighting systems hard for the last year and pushing them on all my Hydrofarm and Lumatek buddies. And, although I have never had a problem with the hardware and find these systems to be good quality for the price, I am no longer willing to endure the incompetence and poor customer service provided by HTG.

I have placed 3 good sized orders with them and each time a major problem occurs due to human error on their end. Most recently they entered my address incorrectly for shipment. They had to of had my correct address for CC billing confirmation purposes, so WTF? I called HTG the day after my order when I received the email confirmation showing the wrong address. I was told that they would make the correction. When I called UPS today to ask what time my, "out for delivery" package could be expected, I was told that it was attempted to be delivered to the wrong address and is currently on a 5 day hold before being sent back. Great, thanks for nothing HTG.

Both of my previous orders were missing items, and/or incorrect items were received, causing delay and frustration.

Well, low price isn't everything. I'm tempted to just let UPS send it back and let HTG lose out on the cost of shipping over a hundred pounds of lights and fans.

Whatever the outcome of this transaction is, I will never order from HTG again. FU HTG SUPPLY!

Wow. You are I think seriously the first person I've heard of that has had that much trouble with HTG. Everything I've read about them before has been good reviews. I personally haven't had any trouble with them.

Hope it all works out ok for ya man. :joint:

Look around one more time, there are lots of people reporting customer service issues with their HTG experiences. Tony, the owner, usually comes along and saves the day by giving people free upgrades for all the BS mistakes they make so everyone is appeased. They should get it together and stop making so many mistakes rather than just giving out freebies to smooth things over afterwards. Freakin stoners...

Give these guys a try. http://www.illumalights.com/ Let me know how they work out. I've been to there warehouse and it seems like they have a very slick operation.
Yeah, I saw you post that link in a different thread the other day. I'm going to give them a call here in the next couple days. It looks like the same exact ballasts for even less. Thanks again for the link.

Giving away freebies and upgrades must be why they get such high ratings.

I see about a post a day about someone with a bulb that didn't make it past 2 weeks, even the name brand ones are failing. I won't order, not worth the hassle.

Give HIDHUT a try, you'll get dependable equipment for about $10 more than HTG. If you want to talk to the owner let me know and I'll think up his name again. He'll make sure everything is right and even customize it, if one of the packages doesn't have the bulb you want or whatever he'll make the switch and deduct the price of the other bulb and it will be correct when you get it. I've done a couple of orders with different things and always expect the worst, especially nowadays, but it always came to the right address, with the right stuff and everything was billed correctly. I recommend them personally.

running a htg supply 600w hps setup for 6 months now, had a bulb blow about a month in and they replaced it with a free upgraded one, they never responded to my 5 emails though, the package just showed up, having to call them to get a responce in BS, their customer service need an overhaul

dunno what to take of them really

Thanks for the info, I will check out their website.

Agreed. They pick up the phone 1 out of every 10-12 attempts. They respond to 1 out of 5 emails. How do they get so much repeat business? I guess most stoners are a lot more patient than I am. 3 orders, 3 strikes, no more chances.

I'm really liking that illumilights site. It looks like the same exact ballasts as HTG have but the illumilight's packages include timers and light hangers and both mh/hps bulbs for only $289. If their shipping rates are reasonable I'm probably going with them.

do you know how busy they are? my biggest problems with them was they forgot to swap out those shitty hagners for timers and replaced a ballast, i am convinced that anything they sell that is "growbright" sucks a ballast and every growbright bulb i have didnt last, other than that i love them, i spent a ton of cash with them but if any issue i had was taken care of super fast, but another thing you have to take into consideration, even the largest manufacturers of equipment, they are all hand made with cheap materials with cheaper labor, take the $600 ebb and gro bucket system, all they are buckets doubled up, or GH;s aeroflo, we make better units ourselves, every ballast i ever seen so far is built like shit, except for the shiney new digi's they are like computers...best bulbs htg carries is the agrosun, stay away from the growbrights, last 2 weeks, i got agro's going for a year nowm good luck and im sorry, its fucking blows thinking you got a package "out for deliery" and 5pm comes and you got nothing, if you want to check out a couple spots for brand name stuff i found 2 on ebay, one is called MGS and the other is beyond hydroponics...also i posted this on another thread, i get tds and PH meters on ebay seller name is e*seasongear, has milwaukee PH pen for $20 and HM tds 1999ppm for 20 also

That's strange that you would know how many sales HTG does, do they post this information somewhere ? Most businesses keep that sort of stuff private. Do you have access to a list of their customers also ?

Someone getting 3 bad orders at 3 different times seems to me like the problem is bigger than you'd like to believe. He must not know how to order properly that seems to be a common response from businesses lately.

i dont know what they do, but i do know when i call its a mad house there and i only let jarrett handle my orders, and guess what i cant ever get him, he has to get intouch with me cus hes always on the line with a customer, those guys over there may do more than 50 orders a day, you gotta understand theres like 5 other ganja forums that are just like us refering suppliers and , we are the best advertizers, thats why they give freebies and fix orders as best as they can, one bad posting on here and thats it, plus theres a ton of competitors, i just go off my own experience with them like everyone else here, i found some good deals elsewhere but i dont know how they do business so i stay with what i know, as you should, but if you called HTG and ask for jarrett and say morris sent you, they will take good care of you, even if its for a pair of clippers...also theres a new hydro store on ebay called beyond hydroponics, its a real store in cali, i know this cus i seen it on LA craigslist(im from the east coast) they got really nice deals on lumateks and the ebb and gro 12 site bucket system, $450 shipping included, HTG has the same unit for $625 shipped

i found HTG on ebay before i joined this forum, i just took a shot on a cheap 400w, and i know they grew because of RIU, when i first came around here i never seen them get reffered much, now HTG in the last 9 months is very popular good and bad on here, i think the starters of this site should get a piece from them =) or atleast kick in some ad money

you are defending them and yourself won't even order unless you talk to a certain person. You keep building a better case for them the more you post, at this rate they will be out of business by tomorrow. If you want your order right order from this guy and tell them I sent you, otherwise who knows what you will get ? Sounds all bad to me.

If the experience is bad, more and more it is and you say to expect more of the same, stick to what you know.

I know I expect better than what I keep reading.

I know I'll stay with who I am with now for sure.

I don't need the hassle, the bad equipment, or having to drop names to get my order correct. That seems to sum it all up.

hey la9 whats with the "snooty" remarks? alls im saying is that noone is perfect and the try thier hardest to make things right, yea i will stick up for HTG, and i had shitty experiences too, as for 3 outa 3 bad orders well, that sucks, these companies dont want us on forums ripping them up, i had an issue with a seedbank and she told me she'll take care of it aslong as i dont go on forums talkin about problems with them, in the end it was my mistake =) thats why i wont bash them, for the record...the attitude is ok with me

I am a little pissed about HTG. My t5 is dead and their ideas on a replacement are crap. But on another note I would not buy a shitty digital for any reason. I just bought a 290 dollar lumatek package with a 600 lumatek, 2 bulbs, a cord set, and an econo hood. I will only buy lumatek digital, after buying their 400 lumatek I am impressed. BGHYDRO has a 600 by itself for 189.
I know money can be tight. But save or something. A digital with a fan and the risk of interference make me wary. My t5 broke after a month. But their airflow hood is rocking my world!:)

And we think you should kick in some money to reimburse all those that have problems with their stuff, and the money it costs the people using it.

I don't even recommend a place that has been good for ten years if the reports start coming in bad, it's usually a sign of poor managment, a company about to go out of business, or just the sign of bad experiences.

I don't see how you can recommend them and sleep at night. We are here to help everyone have a good experience and knowledge they need. Starting someone new off with a company having so many problems may just be what it takes to make them quit. That's not what I'm here for.

i give up, la9 you win, you made the "case" but i cant recall every order be hassle free, looking for perfection in an imperfect world, i also pointed out a few other sources i researched looking for the perfect supplier, all i am looking to do is help a fellow out, your posts seem confrontational to say the least and like your trying to duke it out with me, what give bro?

You can say what you want but yet I'm being snooty ? I'm just tired of people trying to give businesses free passes from their mistakes. I've talked to enough people thru PM's alone to know this is far deeper than isolated incidences. Once in awhile you can expect problems but over and over and there is a problem.

Trying to defend them doesn't solve the problem, it just goes on as business as usual.

Like I said I want people to have a good experience. If a company provides that then I will recommend them, If they have less than stellar reports then I won't.
