researched this seller, its the only item he is selling on his ebay store
and for a while also, everyone are raving about this on his feedback page,
every single one says it delivers; big time

also check this Refurbished SeaChill TR20 1/3 HP Aquarium Chiller

with awesome features on the unit, quiet mode, built in ionizer and a 38 DbA operating noise level

TY LB, much appreciated

anyone using or heard about this chiller?

I was going to buy this for my reef before the electricity went out on a hot day and killed everything by the time I got home. I looked at it hard and saw the same thing you do did SOG. Everyone loves it and at $350 who wouldnt. Nice capacity too.

forget the pool, you guys are not looking at it right; it is simple!
been brain storming this idea for couple hours,
the more i think of it, it seems very logical and the best solution by far!
here is what I'm thinking of-
a construction similar to the DIY redneck pool heater
I'm only talking about the manifold cooper portion of it
built a simple 12" tube from a 24" square sheet of metal
plant this in the middle rivet and seal the seem,
with in and out for the water circulation sticking out of the tube,
tap the ends into a chiller and a res setup with a pump
install the monster inline on the main exhaust line,
exhausting directly into the attic!
this can potentially reduce my attics temp dramatically,
and help keeping the house cooler in the summer
and as an added value, the heat exchanger can be turned off during the winter
to help with heating the house
Wow - you guys have been busy over here... I didn't check your thread for a few days and was thrilled to find such an interesting topic brewing here... took me a few to understand exactly what we are talking about, but now I get it!

Damn SOG - you really keep the hits comin'!

Will you be keeping the chiller outside your grow room? Perhaps you've already addressed this... the chiller will be producing more heat than it reduces, unless it has a vent to outside.

hmmmmmmmm, i must be high or somethin? Well I'd imagine you will build some sort of enclosure around this and force the air through it. I'm guessin this icebox is pretty cheap? What cost did you find for it? Man I was pumped to see the diy coil? Will we ever know if the coil works? I would definitely assume this to be more efficient. Were you thinking the coil wouldn't work good enough or did you see the icebox and knew it would work much better.

i was in the middle of getting the coil together
when i run to this guy who looked at what i build
he does AC for a living, i explained to him what i was planing to do
he suggested id take a look at the catalog he had in his car
and the rest is history, i immediately know this will do the job flawlessly
right there and then, i dumped the coil idea and went to the shop to pick up my new coils
i should have the transitions to 12' round ready by tomorrow to install
got a JBJ 1/4 Arctica here waiting to run the exhaust as soon as I'm ready to plug it in
didn't test for leaks etc... with my unit, and i have a feeling ill have to mess with that
this new unit is already pressure tested to 300psi,
paid $180 OTD + $20 worth of sheet metal for the transition
its about $80 difference in material used for my DIY coil
and it wast tested or completed yet in its enclosure

So...

Is it an AC radiator? what is it supposed to fit originally?

Or is it just a generic radiator...

I must say I like the move... less DIY, but more efficient for sure...

Oh Yeah! Now we're cooking with fire...lol.....lol...
