Found This Info for Flouresent Blubs but not CFL, Does it count for the same shit??

Why does my bulb flicker?
Fluorescent tubes are rated by hours, these hours vary by the manufacture, the most common rated hours are from 6000-22000 hrs. The bulb flickering can also be caused by a poorly seated tube (poor receptacle contacts), a ballast or starter going bad or a tube wearing out such as shown in the photograph.

Hmmmm I just took the blub out and noticed that when you hold it or slightly shake it the whole entire bulb part moves back and forth....Im guessing the light bulb was faulty....

yes that does apply for cfls but they start much faster than a normal fluro light. the bulb was prob jus faulty throw it out and get another and the problem is solved. it'd suck for that 1 bulb to screw up, catch fire and burn everything you got to the ground......... plus they're like @ most $10. thats not to bad to replace if it isn't working properly anyways.

try 1000bulbs for cheap bulbs in a case. that weay when opne goes out or screws up like cfl's constantly do, you can just pop in one of the other 10 in the case.
im a happy customer :)

1000bulbs. com is a web site that sells lighting supplies. they are pretty cheap compared to most other lighting supply stores and they are loads cheaper on cfl's if you know what to buy. they sell cheap cfls in cases of 6-10 as my understanding goes. the cases of cfls come in different wattages. for a link check for my thread in indoor growing. the title is "good buy?"

i believe that you have a short in your wiring somewhere near there. or will soon if not yet. you said it does it bad when u pick it up and a short/ loose wire would explain that. put a regular incandescent bulb
in that spot and see if it does it. if it does then its the wiring. if it stops doing it then its probably the bulb (test it in other socket b4 u throw it away. would suck to throw out a good bulb

The 2 blubs that were acting up were the Cool Whites CFL's which i purchased i home depot but the Warm White CFL's are working fine with no problems....I believe the bulbs are defective...

And What i ment when i pick it up was when i take the bulb out of the socket the glass part is very loose on the base and its not a solid connection...

I agree with kochab. Check your wiring. Sounds like something is not making a good connection. Maybe the contact in the bottom of the socket is flattened out and not making a good connection. Maybe lift that springy contact up a bit if it seems to be laying too flat. Again, check the connections everywhere. Also if you have a voltage meter check your voltage, maybe something is out of whack in the main electrical system. What happened when you tried other bulbs?

Dude I think it is your wiring...You better check on that, call a electrician and have them check on that! LOL! or you can just use the bulbs that don't have that problem...Wiring! LOL

lol the funny thing is this guy obviously dosent know it is possible for people to understand how to wire basic circuits for lights.

but yeah if u took the bulb outta the socket and the spiral is wiggling or having any type of movement at all where it is connected to the ballast, the bulb is fucked up.

I think we can all rest it at the fact that the bulb was faulty. Sounded like wiring to me, but obviously if other bulbs work fine...its not.

Don't buy cheap CFL's.

On a lighter note. Keep the electrician on speed dial! HA!

Yea an electriciton for an illegal grow op.....but i think they were just cheap CFLS.... It cant be the wiring cause its only The Hot, Neutral, Ground so it doesent take a genious to figure that out....or were you talking about the CFL wiring not the circuit for the fixture??? lol
