Thanks a lot... I am on board for the re-re-veg now. I saw your scrog when I was researching. I remember thinking, damn... this guy grows stuff in that little space, very impressed with that.

I have a giant grow palace compared to you. I think I like smaller spaces though, I don't need a bedroom full of plants.

Thanks for checking out the grow. And I'll be here for suggestions when you get the hydro goin on.

Hey guys, this update is basically for all of Week 7 of Flowering. I didn't do anything with the closet this week except top off the rez with 2 gal RO, I did that twice. The second time I added the appropriate amount of FloraNectar, Potash+, and Gravity.

Day 48 flower, the last day of this update.... I drained the reservoir and started my 1.5-2 week flush. The old water still looks very clear and clean when I drain it.

For the flush I added 25 gal RO, Max Flower, Silica, Zone, FloraNectar, and Gravity. I also adjusted the pH down to 6.0... I know it should be lower, but it is hard with pretty much only water in there... the ph adjuster is super strong and the pH keeps climbing.

In those cases where te pH is climbing, do you guys adjust down to 4.8 or something and let it climb back up to 5.8... or do you adjust to 5.7 each hour or two then do it again when the ph gets back to 5.9-6.0?

The plants look great.... I've been checking trichs and they haven't really started changing yet. Or at least as of two nights ago.

They are starting to stink more... It's hard to tell though becuase we have skunks that hang around outside and get in fights sometimes... so I can never really be sure if it is the pot or actual skunks.

I'm starting to get a little nervous about the harvest. What I mean is... I'm feeling overwhelmed. There is a lot of buds in that closet. And I'm not sure which ones are the best. I know I'm not going to mess anything up, but I just hope I do everything right.

I've been reading up on what to do... are there any common mistakes that people make... like letting the bud dry too long, or not long enough? One thing for sure... I'm going to be watching out for mold.

The other problem I have is that I don't know anybody... so it's not like my boys can come over and smoke with me, figure out which buds we like most. I'll be good to try 2 or 3 buds but after that I'll be no good for anything. Oh well.... tough thing to complain about, testing all the product myself.

Ok, and what's the story on the different stuff to make with the trim and all? All the leaves and stuff that have trichs on them... I use those for Hash, right?

What about the stems? And what about all the dried stuff I pulled from underneath the screen, what do I do with that... make butter, or oil? This is all too complicated.... why do I have to make things complicated. I should just be happy with all the bud I'm going to have. But I don't like to settle, always push for more. I'm going to try and squeeze every last bit from this, my first grow.

Killer pics on Page 74 (sorry I didn't think to get some video with the nice camera)

There are quite a few options, but if you want easy, just get some bubble bags.

Its pretty simple. Chopped up leaves go in the first bag, along with water and ice I think, and each time you pull up a bag it leaves a different strength hash underneath, kinda.

http://www.bubblebag.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=21&osCsid=d71d43383eebee5fd28385a46795be35

Im sure you can find better prices, but someone who has more experience in bubblebags would know. I only use my keif press and I also make ISO hash.

I run two batches of hash. One with all the "sugar" leaves/material and another with the stems/fan leaves/misc stuff.

Do you use bags... oh you do the gumby method.... I think I remember you said you kinda messed up a little the first time. Could you tell me what you did, so I don't do it? I'll owe you a gram of hash then.

Thanks for always coming through with knowledge or experience bigJess... much appreciated.

you too 3pete, thanks.

For ice, make sure you get a SOLID block of ice and use a pick to break chunks off of it.

Second, make sure you have a GOOD drill that can run on high for 15 minutes solid.

Third, get yourself a really good strainer, some nice tubing (both sizes needed), and a good no-drip turkey baster.

Watch the Gumby hash video 5 times or so and make a list of what you need.

Then, make a step by step list of the process itself so you can check it off as you go. Also, let the containers sit for longer than directed by 30% or so.

I would start the process early in the morning. When drying, make sure you dont use too much heat from the bulb method shown in the video. I would invest in a couple tiny 2" fans from a computer store or something. If you want to know anything just ask. As far as I am concerned, this is hands down the BEST method if you dont want to invest a bunch of money. I spent a total of $40, although I already had a drill.

Thanks a lot for that jesse... I'll probably end up buying bags in the future, but this first run I'm going cheap.

1 order of gumby hash coming right up.

No problem at all. If I think of anything else I will let you know. I posted some step by step pics back about 4-7 pages or so I would guess if you wanna look. On my thread that is...Watching the Gumby video on youtube should suffice though.

And now for a little shameless self-promotion...I have a 15+ pic update in the works. Check your subscribed threads later and it will be up.

Yo Jig Dude... Seriously? Your girls look fucking magnificent. How close are you to harvest? And this next part is kinda gay sounding but when you touch the plants what does it feel like? Resiny? Smell? Texture? All strains have they're own magic individual qualities and the differences always manage to amaze:mrgreen:. Can you tell any significant differences between the White Widow and the Hindu Kush plants now that they're nearly ripened?

You should get yourself a 6500k light and try and take some pics under it. I would be excited to see.

I take my pics with day lighting right when I wake them up in the morning, as the yellow light distorts the shot.

Not that your pics dont kick ass...Just a thought...

whats the strain your going to grow?
Grow space... welcome. It is always nice to see new faces. Not sure about the question... I have 5 Hindu Kush x Skunk, and 1 White Widow that are about 10 days from being harvested. For my next grow I'm going with Purple Kush, that journal is in my signature. Hope that helps.

I have always been able to tell the difference between the two by look, but it is really cool to watch them mature next to each other. I think the most surprising thing to me was how much the Hindu Skunk developed early and the White Widow late. I mean the HS were seemingly fully developed by week 4 of flowering, then they just grew some more trichs and got a bit bigger.... The WW has just started to really start blossoming late week 6 and most of week 7.

My man.... my plants are ladies, so no gayness going on here. But if there was anything in the world getting mushy and touchy feely over... isn't it these plants we grow (uhhh... don't tell my wife I said that).

When I touch the plants I honestly feel like I am at a museum and am reaching over the barier to run my hand across a famous painting. The Hindu Skunks are sticky as anything ever... just too sticky. The White widow isn't really sticky much at all. Both buds are dense... but the white widow is crazy dense. I mean you squeeze it and it feels like a rock with some moss on it. Like a tiny tiny bit squishy, but only the very outside... it seriously feels like there is a rock in the middle of the buds.

It's funny, I really don't like dense buds that much... I like a little bit of fluf, easier to break up, kinda prettier to me. But apparently most everyone likes dense bud... at the store they are always impressed to show me the dense stuff they have like "man... look at how tight this is". Anyhow, I guess it's good for everyone else that I'm growing dense stuff... I'll learn to deal with it.

Another difference is that the hindu skunks feel softer. Almost more smooth if that makes sense. Like they have nice skin or something. But the WW definitely feel physically stronger, even when I was training them on the screen the WW didn't want to bend as much as the HS.

Smell wise... the Hindu skunk stinks, well like a skunk, with a bit of something else, like melon or something. The white widow barely smells at all, if anything there is a tiny deisel smell to it. I'm not good at describing smells, so that's what you get, haha.

I totally agree with you about the pics... I seriously cant stand the damn yellow shots.... it makes me want to :spew: (always wanted to use that graphic). I actually took 3 pictures right before the lights came on yesterday... here they are.

But yeah... I am going to try and set up a little light to snap some shots , maybe just a couple incandescents.

Please forgive me if anyone is offended, but I am planning on buying/ returning a bad ass digital camera for the week of harvest. I'll see what I can get away with, but I'd love to take some great shots of the plants in their last living glory, and also get some rockin shots of the manicured buds before they get put into jars.

I tried to load pics... but we have vonage, and when I upload while my wife is on a call... the phone cuts in and out. oops.

She's off now.

Oh and Ray Fox (everyone else too)... the first pic is a perfect example of the different strains. The two buds on the left are Hindu Skunk.. the two on the right are White Widow
