Using Cfl's for Sog.

Cfl Sog
If i bought a storage bin, filled it up with soil and put about 20 clones in it. Would i have to put drain holes in the bottom. I'm planing on vegging for 14 days then start flowering. I currently have 4 plants with about 10 23 watt cfl's and 3 42 watt cfls's. Do you believe this would work.

what color spectrum are they? daylight is good for veg 5500-6500k on the color spectrum and soft, warm or cool white are good for flowering these are 2700-3k on the color spectrum and i would be careful about throwin those all in one big pot cus the roots might tangle and either kill 1 another or steal nutes from one other. or get tangled and will be hard to get apart

Some kinda dividers might do the trick to keep the roots separate until you transplant. Try your seedlings in ice cube trays next time...the deeper the better.

Yeah they are 10 daylight bulbs for veg. I just bought a box of 6 23 watt 2700k. To add to the 3 42 watt cfl for flowering. Pictures will be up soon. So i can start a journal. But i wanna try the Sog methiod.
How many plants do you think i could fit in a 2 by 3 by 6 portable closet i converted into a grow room.

Pictures will be up by the end of the week.
(Hopefully)

probably not enuf for sog method. i mean thats not alot of space. width and length wise. if ur gonna have multiple plants and keep a mother then i dn how ur gonna have that many plants in that many different stages in such a small area.

Good call on the bulbs tho that sounds good to me

Thanks man i can fit 4 3 gallon pots in there i just wanted to put more plants in there. Should i get more pots. I only veg for about 3 weeks then veg. This seems to work the best with the CFLs. The bud can get just as big using and HID. Just not as many of them. I love Big BUDS.

"Would i have to put drain holes in the bottom."

No matter what your pottage solution, drainage is essential. Adequate drainage and watering overflow prevents salt build-up, which is lethal to plants.

Let's say i get all female clones and spaced them out about 6 square inches and put them in a big rubber container and drilled holes in the bottom. I would have like 13 23 watt cfl's. All 2700k. Would that work. I wouldn't even veg. The clones i would be taking is from a mother plant that i have in another room.

unless ur just gonna sprout them in those containers and then immediately move them to their own pots ull b okay....but i wouldnt try to sprout them and grow them in 1 container....my friend brought my 3 of his plants he had in 1 huge pot that were all bout 4 -6 inches apart from each other....and 1 was significantly hurt by the fact there was 3 of them in there....1 of them was doing awesome another was doing okay and the third was bout to die.....its really a bad idea to try to grow multiple plants in 1 pot or tub....even if they are spaced out....a root system becomes HUGE very fast and then they get tangled with each other and take nutes from 1 another. and it isnt good for ur plants....i wouldnt recommend doing this unless ur gonna move them within 3 weeks.....basically the 2 weeks it takes them 2 sprout roots and then uve got about a week or 2 before their root system get to big to be able to move them.

if u want to put clones in the same container get some of those seedling starter pucks and put each clone in its individual puck. that way once the roots are big u can just throw the puck and the clone right into another pot or something
